I would be more inclined to suggest prevention rather than finding a solution for treating the symptom. Headache is a symptom given by the body to tell you something is wrong with your physical system. Finding that causative factor and treating it appropriately would seem to be the better remedy for the relief to the body. Most of those who suffer from headaches are vaguely aware of some sort of discomfort at the base of the skull or upper neck, prior to the onset of the actual discomfort. The body automatically sends signals to bend your head to one side, to relieve some discomfort. When you do not follow through, the headache occurs.
This is the premise the doctor of Chiropractic follows to correct the irritating factor within the area of the upper neck. Knowing how integral the cranial nerves are to the free flowing function of the autonomic nervous system.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Try Paracetamol, Naproxen
If its severe try SUMATRIPTAN, ERGOTAMINE.
Commertial name: MIGRANIL...
Dnt always try 2 supress ur headaches. Headaches may due 2 many other causes. So if headaches r persistant then consult ur doc. n take medical advice...
MRI, CT scan, EEG may b necessary in these conditions.
Never b in doubt n dnt take chances.
If headache is due 2 excessive tiredness then best way is 2 sleep rather than taking analgesic pills.
If headaches r persistent u may bcme dependent on those drugs n may cause toxicity.

Depends on what is causing it. In general aspirin, acetaminophen, or Ibuprofen. For migraines you need a Dr.s help. Ditto if it is caused by HBP. One non drug therapy for tension headaches is to have someone massage your neck shoulder and sometimes even back muscles.Doing it yourself does not give the same results but can give some relief.
