Ask your doctor about Lyrica. Its new drug designed to work directly with the nerves. Sciatica is a damaged nerve. I have suffered with it for more than 20 years and about 6 months ago, after countless Dr's. and chiropractors, and everything, i now have relief from the pain of sciatica. It has made a real difference. I also noticed that, i have no side affects from this new drug. i cant tell i even take it other than the pain in my back and hips and leg, are gone. I can now sleep at night. Talk to a doctor about it. Its not real costly either. Good-luck.

have you tried reflexology?? In the bottom of your heel is the pressure point for the sciatica. (if you are standing and the bone of your leg went to the floor instead of turning into your foot is where I'm talking about). That is the area where you want to massage. I take a rounded object and press that area. When you hit the right spot you'll know. Massage that area lightly and when the pain starts to ease up apply a little more pressure. Do one foot than the other. Sometimes, I use a marble or golf ball on the floor. That can be done several times a day. Hope that helps.

It is a fact that no one condition reflects sciatica and it would be prudent to refer to it as a generic medical term encompassing lots of symptoms that taken together describe a lower back pain that a patient suffers from. When someone complains of severe back pain that passes down to legs through his buttocks, even down to his feet and toes, doctors suspect him to be suffering from sciatica. Often sciatica presents itself as numbness or a tingling sensation that may not be anything like the severe pain commonly associated with sciatica. This tingling or numbness may be felt by the person when he engages in some activities.

The bottom of this website has a book on a certain yoga that is much better for sciatica than anything. Very good for the sciatic nerves of anyone. See the famous people who have done it like Madonna and John McEnroe at bottom of text on the site.

No. Lemon works as a detoxifying agent. Instead, drink Indian Mulberry fruit juice. It helps for sciatica nerves.

I have Peripheral Neuropathy which includes the sciatica nerve and so for they have installed a Double nerve stimulator in my spine with 16 leads going to a igp about the size of a pack of cigarettes implanted in my butt cheek which I control with another piece of equipment. I also take 2400 m.g. of Neurontin and 2 -10 m.g of Methadone a day. Well with all this crap I still only get a relief factor of 60% on a good day so not to discourage you they know very little about the nervous system My problem is in my legs/ arms / hands . fingers. Neurontin and Metadose is the best way to go no surgury nothing they cut on will help good luck I have been plagued with this for 8 years and they told me it is progressive >>>my advice is donot put your wallet in the pocket of the side that bothers you, take neurontin (Gabpentin is generic) Lycria is very very expensive drug I have taken it with no help it is designed for Dabetics and get someone to write u a prescrip for Methadose it is a very cheap drug that really works with no side effects again good luck

Ginkgo and I have been exchanging quite a few emails and he's very knowledgeable. In addition to his recommendations, I would like to add this book which helped my sciatica tremendously. It's by a guy who studied chiropractic, yoga, shiatsu, and others.....
