Hello, I have been having trouble with my back for 3 years. It started because of heavy sitting and traveling. Initially I had lower back pain. I took chiropractic and physical therapy about 1 and half year back. Then the lower back pain reduced. But suddenly it started in the upper back very severely. Don't what happened. That chiropractor used to press in my upper back. I was thinking that might be the reason. But what ever the reason it may be, all of sudden my upper back became very stiff and started paining. It also spread to legs. When I am sitting, the muscles around the knee pain a lot. Sometimes I get headache when I am sitting a lot. Someone please suggest me which treatment, specialist should I see. Thanks in advance.

you might just need to stretch, i know that sounds stupid, but it might help. its probably related to tension, and if you are sitting a lot as a result of travel, you will probably want to focus on stretching your neck, spine, and hamstrings. you also might just have really tight hip flexor muscles, that happened to me and it threw everything in my body off. if that doesnt help, i would not go back to your chiropractor at any rate. it might be better to go to see your general physician and ask for a referral.

Having a Chiropractic adjustment every year and one half will not keep you healthy.

Try getting one once a month for a while and get your back straightened out. You definitely are out of adjustment and need a little help.

You may need some correction to the seat in your car or vehicle. At one time I had a Honda I loved (a 5 speed). My hips and down my left leg especially just killed me every time I had to shift. For a while I sat on thin display cardboard boxes and it helped considerably.
I finally broke down and had my Drivers seat restructured (same upholstery just firmer so there was no softness at all. THAT COMPLETELY FIXED THE PROBLEM. See if this might solve the problem. Take a board the size of your car seat and sponge pad and upholster it. Give it a few days of sitting on it to see if it will help your back.

I just remember my daughter had a sever back problem in her low back and did this very thing.
She carried a padded board with her everywhere and repaired her back in about 6 months that the Drs. wanted to operate on.

I am in sales and driving 20 to 30 thousand miles a year was at that time my norm. So I really understand.

I hope this suggestion will help.

Your back is in bad shape. Try hatha yoga. It's a very gentle and slow form of exercise which will tone the whole body and help realign your back. If you do try yoga, you don't need a teacher. You just need to get an illustrated book and pick out the four most basic exercises for starters. Practice them until you are good at them, them add another pair. Also, be patient. It's taken a number of years for your back to deteriorate to its present state, and it will take time for you to recondition it to a more healthful state.

Good luck.
