If anyone could answer this question they would be richer than Bill Gates overnight. Low back pain, is the single disorder responsible for the most hospital visits per year.

Unfotunately, low back pain (LBP), is usually a chronic life long battle. The first thing you want to do is figure out what is causing the pain.

There are however, a few conditions that are treatable, and usually either cure, or greatly diminish the pain. But, these are the minority.

If its related to recent strenuous excersize, than you will just need some ice packs, alternating with heat, like a jacussi and a good anti-inflamatory, thats gentle on the stomach, like celebrex.

If it persisits speak to an orthopedists...not a chiropractor!

Good luck!

Are you constipated? Constipation can be verrry painful !!!

If you are constipated there can be pressure on your lower back.
I had this problem recently, so I went to the doctor.
He said to eat "Fiber One" cereal, which gives you 14 grams of fiber. Total amount needed daily is 25 grams.

Great sources of fiber are whole grain, whole wheat, fruit, vegetables, beans, brown rice, dates, prune juice with fiber and my all-time favorites are nuts...pecans, walnuts, brazil nuts, almonds etc. I also take a colon cleanse twice a day. Takes out the toxins also.

You should be 'going' as much as you are eating, or else where there will be pressure. A build up.

Be sure to drink enough fluid to absorb the fiber.

The other suggestions are great too. Exercise helps muscles to move 'things' along.

Hope this makes sense?! Hoping you are pain-free soon !!!
It made a lot of difference with me....hope it does for you 2 !!!

I find that stretching does wonders. Do you sit at a desk all day? If so, get up eery hour and do some stretching. There are great websites out there, just type in lower back pain and it will take you to some sites that show you the stretches that you can do.
Good Luck!

Have you tried Arch supports? That is what my doctor recommended, and I seldomely ever have lower back pain anymore. If you need an instant relief, lay on the floor, on your back and hold your knees to your chest. Then sit on your feet, and lean your arms straight forward till you head touches the floor. Both moves stretch out the lower back, and provide instant relief.

Stretching and minding your posture are best. For temporary relief, try a rice sock. Just take an old sock (with no holes) fill with uncooked rice, and stitch the end together. Toss it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. It's a wonderful heat pack! I have one between my lower back and my chair as we speak.

Leg stretches. haha I know it sounds weird, but if works. You put one leg in and the other one sticking out, and pull your chest towards your leg. It stretches your legs and your lower back. Then do the other side. hope this helps you.
