I woke up with terrible lower back pain on the lower left part of my back. Im 19 years old, and i dont remember doing anything that would have caused the pain. I tried icing it and took some pain relievers, and it still hurts really bad. can anyone help or know whats wrong?

It could be kidney stones. I had them, and my lower back hurt really bad. but i also felt really sick to my stomach. does it feel like muscle pain, or organs? you should go to the ER or call a doctor. especially if its stabbing or persistant pain. they might be able to help you over the phone. good luck.

Terrible Lower Back Pain

Possibly you are laying wrong in bed, or rolled over in your sleep into a poor position for a while? Try going to sleep while laying on your left side in the slight fetal position. This is the best way for your body to rest and recover from the day's activities, unless otherweise advised by your physician. Try to remember good posture throughout the day, and give your body some relaxing stretches in the morning or evening. Pilates and yoga are great. At your age it could be something as simple as a growing pain. If it persists though, make sure you get yourself to the doctor, especially if it comes with any fever, nausea, sweats, headaches, etc... Good luck!

You might want to see the doctor for this, you have taken pain killers and it still hurts so its obviously pretty bad. It could be a pinched nerve. If you can, try to lie down on the floor and put your legs up on something (chair), supported under your knees. dont force it, if it hurts terribly DONT DO THIS as it may cause further damage. Stay there for half an hour. This can stretch the vertebrae apart and release the trapped nerve. good luck, back pain is a horrible thing

You might want to be careful because lower back pain could mean its a contraction... I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks and was having horrible lower back pain alll day and when they hooked me up to the fetal heart monitor and contraction monitor sure enough everytime I got that throbbing sensation in my back I was having a contraction... I would start to time the intense parts of your lower back pain and see if they start to get closer or stronger... a lot of women (my step mom included) never had stomach contractions... not even once! Sounds like you are getting soooo close to holding your little one! Good luck!!

I recommend putting ice on the painful area and take some pain relievers such as acetaminophen, but since you said it didn't work. So my only suggestion is to ask a doctor about this problem.
