anybody ever had pain in the lower part of their tongue, only on one side tho. hurts when i eat, smoke and odd time when i talk?

Pain under the tongue shoul not be ignored, especially in a smoker. Consult an ENT (ear, nose and throat doctor) to be properly diagnosed.

Look in the mirror to see if you have one of these (they are very common). If you do, it should heal in a week or two. Until it does, chlorosceptic spray on it will allow you to eat without pain.

i get pain in the tounge when i have been coughing too much and it feels like i have strained the muscel or something and it hurts to do anything

sometimes it has to do with the acid in your stomach...if there is an imbalance, your tongue can feel like its bruised or something..weird, i know but its true
