I had to use muscle relaxers. I actually need to speak to my doctor about getting back on them because I am having problems with my neck again. The neck pain can be cause from spending too much time in front of the computer, but if that is what your major is you don't hae much choice. Try not to slouch in front of the computer. Sit up straight. Invest in a good chair for your house/dorm...they have massaging computer chairs. Have you tried weekly massages? This may be more helpful than just going once in a while.

It seems you are eating too much late and by when you begin, your stomach is full of acids so the carbohydrates or starch you are eating cause an inmediate cloud of vapours that travels through the digestive aparatus up to the throat. To help reduce this symptomes you should take enzymes capsules to digest better your meals, i know wheat, potatoes, and any starch makes you full of energy and satisfaction, but help it with more vegetables, like tomatoes, lettuce and broccoli, if you can't buy the enzymes in capsules. The worse stage of this is the stomach reflux which shows like a burning sensation from the stomach till sometimes to the throat, due to the excessive acidness on the stomach. But that can be fighted with the same, both, fix hour to eat, and a healthy well balanced eating habits. If its fully advanced, the gastroesofagist reflux, then contact a gastroenterologist. Hope it helps.

I would take a stab at predicting that your condition is due to bad posture whilst sitting for hours at your computer. First then, examine your work station to ensure that it is set up correctly for you - then make sure that you get some 'relief' time away from the desk. There are also stretching exercises that you can do throughout the day.

As for cure - I thoroughly recommend swimming - it is a great way to stretch out your body without putting strain on your joints.

Sitting all day at the computer is likely causing it. Make a point to get up at least once an hour and do some light exercise. Pay attention to your posture when you're sitting, and make sure your monitor is set up at eye level when you've got correct posture. This will prevent you having to look down to see the monitor, as well as encourage correct posture to be able to see the monitor.

See a pain management specialist, not a chiropractor.
