I've been having 2x per week chiropractic adjustments and 1x per week trigger point massage since April (7 months!). About 2 months ago I went to my primary care doctor with intense fatigue & trigger point pain along my spine and flanks. He ruled out a rhuematological cause based on blood work and gave me prescription strength NSAIDs which left me sleepy but didn't really improve my condition. I have trace white blood cells and "inflammation" in my urine. My flanks hurt, my lower back hurts and my entire upper back and the area along the left side of my spine hurts. I don't "hold" the chiropractic adjustments and I'm thinking my problem is more serious and not related to my spine at all. If I had some type of cancer and it spread to my spine and bones, wouldn't it show up on spinal xrays? It really sucks to be in daily pain for 8 months with no respite. I'm also terribly anemic, but the doc thinks this is due to the fact that I carry the trait for Thalassemia. I used to be a runner.

my husband sufferes from severe pain from this injury and I want to start from scratch. I need to determine the steps, but my view is that I need to know where the pain is coming from, his arms, spinal cord or the brain. With so much of development in the medial field, I am sure there is a way at least to alleviate the pain he is going through on a daily basis. Thank you. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have a very bad back. Which was caused by a fall from a rather large horse. My doctor says there is no treatment but i havent even had an MRI scan yet. He said there is no point as my back is inoprable. How do i now go about getting an MRI scan, as i am in constant pain, finding it now difficult to walk and constantly on painkillers. No one actualy knows exactly what is causing the pain

Got pain from under right ear down my neck, feels like a nerve or something. The pain begins under my earlobe and feels like something is pinching a nerve or something similar. It radiates down to where the spine connects to my skull and down towards the right shoulder. It's been going on for 3 days now and I am getting a bit concerned, although it's weekend now and I will not be able to go to a doctor. Has anyone had something similar? It almost feels like a cross between a pinched nerve and a severe headache at the bottom right of the back of my skull.

I've been diagnosed with a herniated disk. My primary physician wants to refer me to a neurosurgeon. I don't know if the goal is surgery or non-surgical treatment.

What questions should I ask both doctors before I proceed?

I hate taking pain pills, but it seems to be the only way for any blunting of the symptoms. The pain is so bad, I even wake up at night.

This has been going on for several years now, and yes I have seen Doctors, who only tell me that surgery will not help and only give me meds.

So, if you suffer from never ending back pain, how do you cope?

Alright, so. Every once in a while I get this pain on the left side of my chest, it feels as though a rib were poking a hole into my lung. It hurts to breath after that and I am only able to take short shallow breaths. It goes away after a few minutes but it's rather painful/annoying. The thing of it is...
It doesn't happen all the time, maybe once every week or so and I'm not sure what causes it or why. it scared my friend and she suggested that I see a doctor.
My question would be,
Would you reccommend the same?
