There are two reasons - 1) accumulated cough can produce these symptoms.
2) Blockage of blood vessel or nerve can produce these symptoms.
If blood vessel is blocked swelling will be more, if nerve is blocked swelling will be comparatively less.
If swelling is more ask your doctor to give medicines to improve blood circulation and not to give pain killers. If cough is there treat it, not the headache.
If nerve is blocked acupuncture is the only treatment. I have treated cases of 20 years' migrain.
