No, they usually inject Novocaine into your gums, which causes numbing, so you wont feel pain, but you will be awake and you will feel a little pressure. The Novocaine also makes your lips numb and when you try to smile or talk, your lips look crazy but it wears off in about 2-3 hours.

Depends on how deep the cavity is...if it's near the nerve it will hurt, if it's only on the surface of the tooth you will not feel a thing.

not all that bad... that's why you ask for codeine afterwards.
:D
just make sure the dentist doing it isn't a butcher.. a good dentist can fill the hole up in a short period of time without the pain, messing up the tooth and the period afterwards for the gum to heal after all that grinding around the tooth.
and the tooth shouldn't ache just remember that.. if it does a few days afterwards.. the dentist put too much filler in the hole he created.

Not really. There is the novocaine injection before the drilling & filling, but these days they swab on a topical anesthetic before giving that.

No you can't even feel it...well when they put some things in your mouth to keep you still i guess...but they put novacaine in your mouth so you can't feel it at all..
the worst thing to tell you...
They drill, rinse, and drill, and then sometime later...they fill it up.
It don't hurt cuz you get numb.

Not if you have a good dentist. It might only hurt your checking account.
