Pain & Pain Management - October 2006

For the past several days I have had a very intense and sharpish pain in my lower back on the left side. I've had it on and off for months, and it always seemed to be at it's worst when I was working. I quit my job several weeks ago, and after just a few days... the pain was gone. However, it suddenly came back a few days ago and I'm looking for some advice on how to treat the pain until I can get to the doctor in 4 days. Streching, medications and just plain lying down have done nothing to help. Any intelligent suggestions? Thanks so much.

I've been on amitriptyline for 2 and a half years for headaches following a brain injury. I want to try to come off them but I'm scared to - does anyone know what kind of withdrawal symptoms I could get? I'm worried I'll get really bad headaches again and also because amitriptyline is also an antidepressent I'm worried I might get depressed - is that possible? My dr thinks I should come off it but wasn't too helpfull telling me about withdrawals etc..

I try gargle with salt , lemon water and vitamin c,sometime it help but most of the time I end up taking antibioatic. I try not to take too much antibioatic. Does any one can tell me why doI get sore throat every month?The doctors say that my immuse system is weak. Is that the only reason? Can you suggest any home remedy for sore throat.

my sister went to the hospital and they gave her a shot of morphine to relax muscles. The next morning she couldn't walk. Went back to diff hospital and they said the other hospital must have given her the shot in her siatic nerve or even her spine. my question.... shouldn't the drugs wear off eventually and then she should be able to walk again? Anyone know for sure?

I don't want to go to the store to buy anything, but am having pretty bad pains. I know it is acid reflux because I have had it before, and I would like to know if anyone knows of any home remedies on how to ease the stabbing pain!! Thanks :)

When i touch the top of my right testicle it hurts but then after a while the pain is gone This only happens once in a while, i would touch the top of the testicle when drying it with a towel or whatever and it would hurt. What is this? i hope it isnt testicular cancer because i wont have the kind of money to go through surgery plus i am currently in high school. ( im 17 ) how can i treat this, it is embarrasing if i tell my parents. Please let me know if this is something minor that i dont have to drag my parents into this.Good information please. Dont just copy and paste from google becuase i can do that also. Please help, i appreciate it very much!

when i touch it, it makes me want to go to the bathroom becuase it causes pain in my stomach too (sorta)

do you think its the way i sleep also? because i sleep on my side and i have a body pillow that i hug, do you think i put pressure on it this way? please im so worried

I'm 13 and 3 days ago,I got another lobe piercing (a bit upper than the Pagoda).It really hurts! I can't touch my left ear because of the pain!

What should I do to stop the pain?

I walk 3 to 4 miles daily and work out three times a week lately I awaken in the night with leg cramps and they are sooo painfull ..any suggestions what I can do...thank you Linda

It drives me up the wall! Aside from taking Ginkyo, putting a cushion under my legs and punching myself on the calves or soles of the feet when it gets really bad what else can I do?

he worked me over.....now the stem of my neck hurts all the time.my medical Dr. told me its just tension because Im under so much stress(I have bad anxiety and take Xanax for it) My right shoulder also hurts,I sometimes feel a rippiling pain shoot thru it,and my neck feels like its swellen up(although it does not look like it) Im going to an ENT on Tues.for dizziness I have had,so I will have him check my throat as thats where my neck seems to swell..also my right eye often feels reeally odd I cant describe the sensation..my eyes have been checked and r fine.My dad thinks it could be sinuses. Any ideas on the neck pain.Has any heard of someone pulling your neck. i heard it pop when she did it.Im mainly seeing the ENT because of my dizziness,they think it could be inner ear.

The bottle pretty much says it's the same thing. This probably sounds stupid but couldn't you just go buy the bottle for fishes and take it yourself? I mean if you know that's what you have to take. And yes I do know I should go ask my dr before I take anything, I'm just curious.

Nurses are always using regular size needles and either miss or go right through my veins. I know this because it stings in my arm. Isn't it okay to ask for a pediatric needle for an IV catheter?

I have the worst time trying to sit,stand or lay without them hurting and have tried the creams and hot baths and hot water bottle soothes it a little if i sit on it but still in pain afterwards......HELP
