Have they done a hormonal chemistry on her blood?
Have they done an x-ray and/ or brain scan?
Has she started her menstrual cycles yet?
Is she eating normally, and has enough protein in her system?
Has she been to the opthalmologist to check her vision? Diferences between the eyes can cause them as well.
Does she take niacin? Sometimes migrains appear out of the blue for no reason. I took Niacin (no flush) timed release, and it can be taken in amounts up to 500 mg per dose. You cannot overdose on it and there are no side effects. It took away the auras in my vision, the nausea, and the sensitivity to light and sound. Amazing stuff. But check with the eye doctor first, is my advice. It may be something as simple as needing glasses or a prescription change.

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I have been suffering from migraine headaches for 6 1/2 years now. They started only coming once a month with my monthly cycle. Being that your daughter is 14 I am guessing she has started her cycles. If so are her migraines monthly ? What are her symptoms? I have been on many, many different kinds of medicine's, some have helped. Maybe I can help with some suggestions if I know more about the symptoms and what she has tried so far. She is so young I hate to hear she is having this problem.

Headaches of any type is very dangerous - it could indicate a brain tumor or internal bleeding. Go see your doctor and ask for urgent appointment with the hospital for a CAT Scan, just to make sure before you try any other treatment. Don't leave it too late, with internal bleeding, the blood can put pressure on the brain like, pushing against it which could cause permanent damage.
Good luck!

What kind of headaches? Has she ever been diagnosed with migraines?
I suffer from terrible migraines and it took quite some time to find just the right med for me. Sometimes it is just trial and error.
I suggest that you take her to a doctor who specializes in headache pain and if that doctor does not help go to another until you find one who does.
I see a neurologist who specializes in headache pain and treatment. I live in Michigan.

could be allergies or migranes.
headaches of that caliber can sometimes be induced by stress or allergies. worst case scenario get her an mri.
I get migranes too. Anaprox DS (perscription) or Excedrin Migrane became my best friends lol. You may want to see a specialist. Your hospital emergency room may take a while, but all the the equipment and special attention she may need is already right there. might be worth it.
All the best.

Has the Dr. prescribed for her Preventative Medicine for migraines? Not sure if there is an age limit. But i'm 28 and have gotten migraines since I was about her age. I also have TMJ as well. But My Dr. Sended me to a Neurologist and she gave me something called Topamax. Which after about a week in a half I didn't get migraines on a regular basis.
The other thing I noticed is that Certain food's has caused migraines for me like Cheese, Chocolate and Milk gives me migraines as well.
Here's a link to food's to watch out for if you haven't yet to see if she is allergic to any or that may cause them.

Best wishes I hope that you find some useful information here in Yahoo! Answer's. I know how frusterating it can be. I know for me it wasn't until I got on Topamax that I didn't stop having migraines.
