Mix cayenne pepper with lemon juice to form a paste. Put a tiny amount of this on the end of a spoon (or something) and apply it to the very back of the throat. This BURNS for a short time, but then the sore throat is much better. Try not to get the mixture into the rest of your mouth unless you have a high tolerance for chile.

First, try gargling with warm salty water several times a day, that should give you some temporary relief along with an over the counter sor throat med. If it continues you'd better get it checked out...could be strep and the only thing that helps strep is antibiotics. Also hot herbal tea with honey and lemon will soothe the achy, scratchy feeling.

Gargle with salt-water, soothe with honey-lemon tea.
Chicken noodle soup and other chicken-based foods (stew, dumplings, KFC) seem to have a remedial effect on a sore throat, too.

I tried this, and it works wonders - mix about 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder in a tablespoon of honey, and let it down your throat - do this after a salt water gargle, just before you go to bed.

depends on what's causing your sore throat...irritation or infection? If it's irritation just gargle with warm salt water. ..about 1 heaping tablespoon per 12 oz glass. If that doesn't do it check with your doc. it's probably an infection that needs antibiotics.

Take a tablespoon of honey swallowing it slowly to coat your throat and kill the taste of three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.

salt water... try to drink more hot things, avoid the cold drinks. also, slices of fresh lemon with a bit of salt seem to help too (you dont swallow the lemon, just kinda suck the juice, btw, keep the skin on, it's very nutritious)
