Yes--I have had two and they gave me relief for over a year.
I suggest having these shots done under floroscope in radiology. That way they can see better where they are going and reduces the risk of hitting a nerve.

Having said all this--they dont always work for everyone and it is a limited treatment. In other words--not something you want to do a lot.
On that note--becareful because the ESI injections are big money for the clinics. You do not want more than what is needed or healthy.

Yes. I was having pain in my back that caused pain in my legs so bad I could hardly walk. I had to use electric carts when I went shopping.

When my Dr. recommended the injections, I was very concerned. After the first injection, it took about two or three days to get the full benefit, but I felt like a different person. It helped my pain so much it was almost unbelievable. The injection was not bad either.

I have to return about 3 times a year, but I can shop without problems, and many days I get by without any pain medication at all.

For some people it does not work that well, but it is not a bad procedure to have done, and it is definitely worth trying.

Cortisone injections are commonly used to treat arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis and other inflammatory joint conditions. The success rate for pain reduction and improved range of motion is very high, but it is not a cure.

it helped me tremendously, but as the pain management doctor told me: it only works about 60% of the time. so good luck and if you are considering it, try it, if it doesn't work, you will have at least tried it. if it works, then you are not in pain anymore!
