Are you cleaning it with alcohol every time you think about it?
You should be using it a minimum of 4 times a day.
Do you have 14carat gold earrings? If not you could not only be going through the healing process but you may also be going through the healing process with an allergic reaction to the metal of your earrings.
I am 53yrs old and had my ears pierced at the age of 16 and every time I try to wear earrings that are not 14carat gold I get inflammed ear lobes and it is very uncomfortable.(Even surgical steel or sterling silver both my ears)
You don't say where you got your ears pierced. . . if it was somewhere other than a Dr's office you might have picked up some kind of bacteria and you might have an infection that needs to be treated with antibiotics so if you should notice that you are running a fever you might want to go see your family Dr.
Ice and aspirin/tylenol and ibuprofen are only temporary solutions and might solve your problem but fever present as well might mean you need more.

I do piercings and a lot of these get infected the first time you do it. It might be best to let it close up and heal. The pain and redness is a sign of infection. If you do not want to let it close, use hydrogen peroxide everyday on it. If it does not heal in 10 days, take it out anyway. Let it heal for 8 weeks, and try again. If it happens the second time, it wasnt meant to be. Sorry to say. Or you might want to try another place to go have it pierced, the company may have a issue with their equipment being properly sanitized.

If you have such intense pain plus the area of piercing gets red, you could very well have an infection. Did the place where you got the piercing give you any instructions for daily cleaning and care?? When I got my ear piercing done, I had specific instructions plus a liquid to dap around the whole area each day for about 3 weeks. I would check with your Doctor and see if you can get something for infection.

You probably got this one into the cartilage. It's going to hurt. It's going to hurt for months. Cartilage should only be pierced by a needle, not a gun.

Either that, or it's infected.

If it's in the cartilage, you have two choices. Take the earring out, and let it heal. Or tough it out. It's going to hurt for several months, probably. I was young and stupid when I got mine done, and it took 6 months to heal, because I got it with a gun. It still bothers me sometimes, and it's been 15 years since I got it done.

If it's infected it will look red and puffy, and there may be a discharge from the earring hole. Do NOT take the earring out, you'll trap the infection in. Wash your hands thoroughly, and clean your earring with the solution they gave you. Clean it three times a day, be sure to rotate the earring when you clean it.

First thing...stop using alcohol!! Then call the person that pierced you and ask them to look at it. Also, get care instructions. They should have given you those anyway! If they don't know what to do about it then remove your jewelry. Your body could be rejecting it. That happens often. Don't do anything else to it until you talk to your piercer. Also keep in mind that it takes time to heal a piercing. Some can take up to a year to heal. Good luck!

When it gets hot, you step away from the heat. In this case honey, get the ring out first, you should use something like peroxide to clean the wound. If it doesn't heal in a few days or becomes worse you'd better head for a doctor. CNN just had a story about a young girl that punctured her intestine while piercing her belly button, she almost died.

Alcohol is far to harsh. Try a half and half solution of peroxide and bottled water. A previous post said cartilage is more painful and takes longer to heal...this is absolutely true. I have cartilage piercings. If it is unbearable, take the earring out and let the piercing close.

Try ice, to numb the pain and minimize the swelling. No more than 5 minutes, you might hurt yourself

Alcohol is good for disinfectant if the wound is still open.

If it gets more swelling or if you feel you have fever, go to a doctor, you might have an infection.

You can try to just ice it, but how does it look? If it looks really red and inflamed or puffy, there might be an infection. It should not hurt so much that you can't touch it. Try the ice, take a tylenol and if it's still not better, I'd tell someone or just remove it.

When-ever my ears start to get sore and red, pus comes out of them. I keep them clean with a cotton-ball and peroxide. Leave the ear-rings out for a few days, till their not sore anymore. Put neosporin on the holes your earrings go in. Make sure it gets down in the holes, rub them for a few seconds......Now you have to play a waiting game...but they'll be better in just a few days.
