my sister went to the hospital and they gave her a shot of morphine to relax muscles. The next morning she couldn't walk. Went back to diff hospital and they said the other hospital must have given her the shot in her siatic nerve or even her spine. my question.... shouldn't the drugs wear off eventually and then she should be able to walk again? Anyone know for sure?

the drugs should only stay in your system for a few days to a week... if your sister had someone hit a nerve with the needle she could experience some temporary to permanent damage. I would have her see a neurologist for another opinion and perhaps an EMG test.

Your posed question did not say for sure where the shot was given. But there is a chance that a nerve could have been damaged. If this happened she will not be able to walk after the drug wears off, which I believe will be after about 24 hours or so. You should talk to a neurologist who can give you a better idea of how long it will take or if the damaged nerve will heal.
