It sounds like you may have a pinched nerve. Sometimes when you are first starting chiropractic care you will feel a little worse becuase your body is wanting to go back to its old habits and is resisting the new, and more healthy, alignment. Tell your chiropractor your symptoms at your next visit.

I also recommend you take up yoga and/or meditation for your stress levels. They would both help you physically and mentally.

Good luck!

Your description is highly suggestive of a postural discrepancy.. putting your entire body under stress. Many of the symptoms mentioned suggest neurological complications of the cervical and thoracic spine. The primary reason for this condition is the result of unequal tension of muscles in that area. One side being much tighter than the other.

Your visit to the DC was of limited help as they apparently gave you no homework to help remedy your condition. Suggesting you need to find another who will require you to do stretching at home.. The stretching accomplished with the manipulative procedure would be very limited. The body would want to to back to its more comfortable and accustomed position.. often times by the time you get home. It would behoove you to do the stretching to maximize the length of time before those tight muscles would pull the vertebrae out of position again..

The condition came about slowly and allowed an adaptation by the body. It will not disappear rapidly, as there is much retraining of muscles yet to be accompllished. If you found a DC who does not give you specific stretching to do at home, you have not found the right doctor.

The dizziness remains a part of the neurologic inflammatory process. Suggesting you have several of the cranial nerves involved in that inflamed situation. Including the eye symptoms.

Suggest you call around and find a DC who has you do stretching at home. This factor is essential for recovery.

You need an appointment with an orthopedic or spine specialist... at the very least a neurologist. Your symptoms are not typical of merely stress related neck pain. If your general practitioner will not make the referral for you then contact your insurance carrier and request a list of orthos in your area.

Good luck!

Chiropractic manipulation is meant to be continued until adjustments are no longer needed or the ailment is corrected. If the chiro helped, you can always go back. If you think your condition has worsened, you might want to try an orthopedic MD. Hope you feel better...

Don't ever go to a chiropractor!!! I was going for years 20.00- 30.00 a visit. I went to physical therapy. All you need is stretching exercises. Don't ever let anyone mess with your neck. I would see my own doctor if I were you & get an x ray. You may have a lawsuit.

You need another completely different opinion from another doc. QUIT going to the chiro, sometimes they can help, other times they make the problem worse. When I was in physical therapy, they pulled on my neck everytime I went. Its called traction. It DOES help....but I think you need another x ray or MRI and get another opinion.
