im a massage therapist, and what i can tell you is that you should be stretching your calves before and after your work out. take your time with the stretches, and not only calves but your entire leg. if the cramping still comes up than you can either ice the area for no longer than 10 minutes and do self massages, or if you would like to relax more, go to a massage therapist that specializes in sport massage. it really helps and relaxes your body.

Place a new, unwrapped bar of non-deoderant soap, i.e. Ivory, between the bottom sheet and mattress pad near the bottom 1/3 area of your mattress. It works for me. I got it off the net, I think on peoplespharmacy.org

buy some potassium at the health food store and take a couple of tablets per day. or you can eat 30 or 40 bananas. my calves some times get cramps at night and i know that i haven't taken the potassium for a while.

Yes, stretching, water and bananas are definitely the solution to your problem. It's NOT restless leg syndrome so I wouldn't bother with putting a bar of soap under the mattress.

You are almost certainly dehydrated, drink more fluids to prevent this. Perhaps some potassium in your diet, like an apple or banana also.

Those leg cramp are likely due to electrolyte imbalance or lactic acid buildup. Make sure you stretch both before and after you exercise, and be sure to eat a balance diet.

if you have any heart problems, don't use the potassium, use quanine. i get the cramps really bad and tried potassium, but my blood pressure went sky high. i stretch, drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, exercise, and take quanine. it sells in the vitamin section. has worked really well for me.

always drink plenty of fluids. Take a balanced mineral supplement. CAlcium will not work unless you balance it with vitamin D and magnesium .
