How do I reduce swelling? I know you can use ice, but is there any medicine (like tylenol or advil or something) that will help?

Well, it all started out 3 years ago when me and my brother were jumping off of swings. Yeah I know pretty dumb. But I did it and landed on the side of my foot and colapsed. Well, I couldn't walk on it for like... a week. In total it hurt for 1 year. I was in a different country and/or contenent and didn't go to the doctor. Pretty dumb also. Well, after that it hurt whenever I just hurt it alittle it would hurt a lot. I'm going to the doctor but I have 2 wait for my mom to get back from a trip. What does it sound like 2 u? do u think the doctor will splint it? Phisical tharapy? Surgery?

Also what can I do right now 2 stabalize it till she comes back? I have a brace thing and ace wrap should I use that? I can see now that rest wont help because this injury was 3 years ago....

I just had two ingrown toenails removed one on the inside of my big toe on the right and one on the left toe. I just woke up and it is throbbing and hurts A LOT ! I took 4 advil an hour and a half ago and it hasn't touched the pain. I have a two month old and am wondering if it is going to be hurting me like this all day! HELP!! OUCH!! ALso, I am scared to take the bandage off and see what it looks like.

Last week i twisted My ankle during soccer practice, it was hurting so much the whole week, so I did so compressions on it and massaged it.
This is the second week, and I can sprint and Jump and Run but I cant Bend My right foot. Everytime i kick the ball or take a long shot my right foot bends and it hurts so much!
what should I do?
any suggestions?

I have looked on the internet and found loads of advice saying treat it with RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation). Will that be enough? My ankle and lower leg is really swollen and sore.

i had surgery about 10 days ago to remove a cyst from my nose and my doctor cut up past my hairline so the scarring wouldn't be noticeable. he used dissolving stitches (the incision goes from one ear, over my head to the other ear) and i forgot to ask him when i was at my post-op earlier this week how long they will be there.
does anyone know about how long until they dissolve?

I had my belly button pierced over 6 months ago and it's been fine but now it occasionally bleeds. It's when I push the skin back on the ring that causes a small amount of blood to appear. It's not infected but it doesn't seem to have healed yet either. Is it supposed to be healed and why is it bleeding?

I have had plenty of nose bleeds in my life but this one was way diff.
first of all I ddin't do anyhting to cause it and it was so bad I was gagging up blood. I had like 5-6 major clots before I got it to stop.
what I was wanting to know was could this be something related to high blood pressure or exercise after not getting to much exercise and just all of a sudden over exserting the body. I'm just confused. I don't want to think there is something wrong with me. could it be from being on the comp. too much?
plz if any one knows what this could be from plz let me know.

My thumb and around that area have been hurting, also my wraist has too. My mom just said I probably sprained it and that there's noting the ER can do for it. I was wondering if it can be sprained its not really swollen, I cant really tell if its brusing and it hurts really bad like a 8 on a scale from 1-10. When I put weight on it, it also hurts. Can it be sprained? Should I go to the doctor?

My pinkie finger has been numb from the tip of the finger to the point where my wrist meets my hand. It's been numb since yesterday when I was pounding on a locker because it would'nt open. Any idea what the heck is wrong with my pinkie? Oh and it twitches by it self every like 5 minutes...then all my other fingers start twitching for like 3 minutes straight.

I have a knot near my spine next to my right kidney.it is about the size of a quarter. I have had it for a few weeks now but today it has been hurting. Sharp pains that come and go. hi, okay i have a question and i'm hoping for an answer okay my mom got her blood drawn about a week ago they drawed her blood from her hand. since yesturday her finger and the area around her finger has turned dark red kinda blueish. Ok well about 3 years ago I jumped off a swing and landed on my side of my ankle. It really hurt but I never went to the doctor. Dont ask why. It really hurt for about 1 year but I nevered bothered to go to the doctor, which now I see that that was a big mistake. Sometimes it just hurts at random times and whenever I hurt it alittle it really kills. Sometimes it doesn't hurt. Is there anything I can do to stabalize it till my mom comes back from her trip? She's coming back in 2 weeks. Should I just Ace wrap it? What do u believe that it is? What do u believe the doctor will do? Can he do anything? Right now it doesn't hurt that bad but it will hurt sooner or later again. How would he see if it is really hurt? I just recently had a knee injury and had 2 get an MRI and x-ray. My knee is really better now! But should I not get x-rays because they would be 2 many at a time? Im confused! What would u do?

earlier today during school i fell from about maybe 4 to 5 foot, well i landed pretty hard on my knee, i can stil walk and everything, nothing serious. but there is no bruise just some swelling and it still has some pain

right now i am iceing it then wrapping it in an ace bandage for the night. does that sound ok?

or is there something else i should do.

Well while we were at my grandmas house her finger started to swellup and turn a bluish color. She said this has happened more then once but at random times. It just happens she said. Once she even had 2 break the ring she had on her finger because it swelled up so much and she started to not fit and she would have lost surculation in her finger. It happened on her pointer finger and im not quite sure if its always the same one or not but this doesn't seen norman and I am worried about her. Is it something seriouse? Can someone give me more information on this subject? I dont know what it is. Plz help me!!!!! I'm desperate!!!!!!!

I'm a girl, who's 13 years of age, and has Odgood Shlotter for about a year now, i still have the bump underneath my knee cap, and i still am having pain with it.

As a child my sister got hit in the eye with a soccer ball. Her vision blacked out temporarily and when she went to the ophthalmologist she was diagnosed with internal bleeding in her eye and instructed her to stay home in a dark room, not move around a lot, and use dilation drops in the eye for three days. I was just wondering what other symptoms are and how internal bleeding of the eye is officially diagnosed and treated. THANKS!

FIRST OFF I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE WHICH IS OVER THE TOP AT 161/121 WHICH AM HAVING TROUBLE BRINGING DOWN TO NORMAL GO TO DOC EVERY 2ND WEEK.

My brother plays his electric guitar for several hours every night at the loudest volume. I can hear the tight, screathing guitar stings all over our two story house. I even went outside to sit on the patio and could hear it. My mom doesn't care if he plays it that loud. She won't tell him to stop and I get a headache. Can this racket be casuing more stress than I know about?
