It happened on her pointer finger and im not quite sure if its always the same one or not but this doesn't seen norman and I am worried about her. Is it something seriouse? It sounds like classic Raynauds disease (aka idiopathic trophoneurosis) which causes spasms in the arteries in the fingers, causing cyanosis (blueness) and sometimes gangrene...it can be brought on just by the fingers getting cold...its usually considered a young womans disease, but i have seen a guy with it before, so thats obviously not 100%. since the spasms can be serious enough to cut off circulation to the point of gangrene, its advisable to see a physician for this problem. She may need meds or surgery to stop the spasms.

ps trust someone who works in medicine over someone related to someone who works in medicine...

okay, those are terrible answers.

it's most likely a pinched nerve. a pinched nerve will cut off the blood flow to the rest of the finger. this is going to sound really ridiculious, but i assure you it works. my father is a doctor and when that happens, all you have to do is move your head (slowly!) from side to side. I don't know exactly what it does, but it does work and your grandmother's finger should regain its cirularion.

turning blue means not getting circulation.something is like cutting off her flow of blood. Its like having a invisable tight ring on.Something in her hand or near her finger is cutting off her blood flow. You are not going to be able to do anything for her. She has got to see a dr. ASAP.....

Pls ask your grandmother to see a doctor. It's always good to get a professional to check up on her, than to simply self-diagnose.
