Last fall, I played a little too much tennis and developed tendinitis in my right wrist and began to see a slight hint of tennis elbow, but fortunatley stopped and immobilized my arm before anything permanent could set in. Now that spring is coming, I'm going to start playing tennis a lot and I'm wondering what sort of vitamins and/or excersizes and/or anything I can do to keep my arms and joint strong and healthy. I currently take a normal multivitamin, a omega-3 complex and a glucosamine/chondroitin complex. Is there anything else I can be taking to strengthen tendins/muscles/connective tissue/bones? Also, what sort of excersizes, workouts or warm ups can you reccomend for me?

Recently, I have been diagnosed for having meniscus tear on right knee. This came from a soccer injury. I did MRI (positive) and x ray and have been seen by 2 Doctors who recommend a surgery. I am waiting for a referral to see a third Doctor for more opnion (well know) in the area. I am not in desperate situation yet. I can walk but can't do squat or run and often it swells up. What shall I do?? Do you know about an organization (if any) to check records of success or failure for performing the surgery

my friend broke her ankle. she had to have titanium plates, and screws "installed" Her body is rejecting them, and the screws are coming out. She is in a lot of pain and complaining of a red line going across her foot. Is that a possible allergic reaction? any other things it could be? Her foot is also incredibly itchy. She has had the screws in, since later August. about 4mos. Dr. wants her to keep the hardware in for 4-6 more months. But you can feel the screws against her skin. This just sounds strange to me, anyone with experience or med.practice, any comments would be insightful!!!!!!

I've had this lump/cist on the top of my right eyelid for 2 years and the same doctor keep telling me to wait until it heals but it seem to never heal. He gave me two choices as to undergo surgeory and get a scar or leave it there.
I can't stand how I always have to cover it under my frindge. It's purple colour and looks a little swell.

I DON'T want to have a scar after i go for surgeory. I'm afraid that it'l never go away.

Should I wait and see if it goes away or should I go for surgeory?

I put ear plugs in to help me sleep and I stuck one in too far. I had trouble getting it out. Now my ear and most of my jaw really hurt. I am also feeling dizzy and as if the room is spinning. Can it really be caused by the ear plugs?

I live in a apartment building, there is only one way to get in and out of the apartment building. There used to be two post to hold on to. but one of them has been broken since August of 2006. The landlord come here all the time and dont fix it. He just leave it. Right now it is winter and there is alot of snow and ice at times, but it hard sometimes to walk up and down on these steps, and than one of the post missing, you dont have any support. If someone was to slip and fall , hurt there back or even broke a bone. Due to the negligance of the landlord. Could you sue him for pain and suffering and stuff? What would be the proper steps in filing a lawsuit? What are somethings I would need to prove my case and win?

Over the past two years I've noticed a steady decline in the strength in both my thumbs, particularly in my left. I play guitar so this is especially as frustrating, because when I play barre chords (they require pressure from the thumb by pushing on the back of the fret board), I can only do it for a short period of time before I have to bow out due to the pain. Lately I've noticed even regular notes are hurting my thumb, which do not require much strength at all. I've noticed it starts hurting when I'm applying pressure and then releasing constantly.

The pain usually resides in the joint at the very bottom of my thum and palm. The tendons surrounding the joint sometimes hurt too. However, sometimes it feels my thumb itself is hurting as well.

I'm only 20 and I did go and see a doctor and physio and they both acted as if it's all in my head. This is incredibly frustrating as it is pushing me further and further way from enjoying my instrument.

Thanks to anyone who can answer.

I dropped my brush in the toilet, and I tried to get it before it hit the water, but to no avail it hit the water. A bit of water (okay a bit more) landed straight into my eye, I tried to blink but was obviously not quick enough. Will I get a diease from the toilet water?. I rinsed my eye with water, and now 6 hours later bought an eye rinse because my eye feel a bit dry, and feels different. So anyway... any advise. I know this may be a silly question but would like to know. Thank You ! Honest sincere reply please

I have had headaches all week and I have been sick to my stomach a couple of days. It was a sharp pain when it stung me. I thought maybe it was just a sudden sharp pain in my toe. It stung me in the morning and it did not even bother me until that evening. Then it was pink on half of my big toe and it was so painful that I could not even touch my toe. When is a trip to the doctor in order. It is no longer sore or pink.

Well, a while ago i hurt my knee in gym class. Not it really hurts! I went to the doctor. He said it was maybe torn/strained. I went to a orthapidic and he said I just have 2 rest it. Now it has been 2 weeks later and I still can't walk on it. We are going back to get an MRI but the office is closed over the weekend. Should I use crutches becaause it really just makes it worse if I walk on it. What other things would you suggest besides crutches? I have rested, ice, wrapped, elevate, creamed, and my mom makes me take these pills. And nothing has worked. Should I use crutches 4 the weekend. I am doing some stuff out of my house. Were can i get crutches if u think so? We had a pair but my mom threw them out without realizing well actually need them again.

My kneecaps can move from side to side easily (and pretty far from the normal kneecap position), and I read that that is one of the symptons of a dislocated knee...What's wrong here?

I use my computer a lot at home and iam constantly putting my elbows on my desk and 9 times out of 10 I manage to bang my funny bone, resulting in the tingling feeling in my left pinky.
I have banged my funny bone so many times I now my left pinky is perminantly tingling, but theres no pain and I only get the feeling in my little finger,no-where else.
Is this anything to worry about and what can I do to get rid of it.
Or should I go and see a doctor.
Cheers
Steve
