It won't heal that quick but you can set it and tape it to the finger next to it in the direction of your index finger that way you will still be able to play ball. If it's your index finger tape it to the middle finger. If you use a splint it'll get in the way of handling the ball. I speak from experience. When you set the finger it will hurt worse than when it got broke but only for a second. Again experience. Forget about the pain meds they will only cloud your judgment and interfere with your game. Oh when you set it do it fast it won't hurt as bad. Just suck it up and Git R Done!

It's not going to heal THAT quickly. The best you can do is splint it and tape over all of that and hope that will give you enough mobility to handle the ball.

It's going to take a while to heal completely. In the mean time you need to go to the doctor and have it examined. If it's not set properly it could heal crooked.

It won't heal that quick.......if it don't set properly, in the future you are going to have a heck of a time with arthritis- but if you insist on doing this to yourself.......take two tongue depressors and wrap with gauze tautly and tape it, you are splinting the finger. BUT you really need to go to the doc and get it done right....

This is a remedy my football coach taught me in H.S when I was 17. Get a popcicle stick and some medicial tape. Place your finger on the stick and wrap the tape around it. This is to limit mobility in it. Make sure to try not to overuse it. Also keep ice on it to reduce swelling.

My dad's an ortho. surgeon, and he usually suggests icing, immobilizing (by taping fingers together), and advil (ibuprofen helps keep swelling) down. As for playing on it so soon? I wouldn't. Not unless you want to risk future surgery/injuring it further. I would definitely get it X-rayed if you haven't done so already. I'm no doctor, but I would give it time to heal. Usually that's weeks!

I would go to the doctor. Splint it and tape it to an able finger, for stability.

I wouldn't count on playing for a week or two, minimum. Are you certain you're broken it? Has it been x-rayed? Has it been splinted? Even then, you're still talking about a week or two, even for a professional ballplayer.
