I am in gymnastics. I have a meet tom. I had a sore hamstring muscle before today and now it is so bad it hurts to move my leg. I really want to compete but should I?? I compete all around(all events) I really want to but someone told me that it will keep it from healing. It is very painful but I wouldn't care as long as I place. Should I??

I have a few issues, first is my back, recently my lower back has been hurting, i mean i can barley stretch my legs since it hurts when i bed down to them... any advice? i dont think its so bad i need a doctor... but its a pain to live with... next for about a couple months there has been a pain in my thumb, at the moment it feels fine but im always having to lift for football and such and work so when i put pressure/weight on it its starts to hurt and i have to leave it alone for a day or so before its good again... my coach said it could just be a bone bruise but almost 2 months after he said that it still hurts...

I have knee pain in both knees on the outsides of each kneecap. When running i can sometimes feel a crunch with severe pain. Also standing for long periods can cause pain.... the pain comes and goes and some days are better then others..... to me the pain seems to be more from bone then soft tissue. Any ideas what it may be?

Something is wrong with my knee. My mother has taken me to the doctor and the doctor doesn't know and shrugs it off as growing pains, but I've had growing pains and they felt nothing like this, also, I haven't grown for the past two years. And it only hurts in my right knee...does anyone know why?? I do not rememeber hurting it, and I can't stand taking meds, they make me puke and shake, I also feel like bugs are crawling all over my body!! And I feel lightheaded. Does anyone know why my knee is doing this?? My mother has gotten many opinions on it and they all don't know!! They all tell my mom that they aren't sure but they think it's growing pains!! I have had these pains for almost a year now an my other leg is starting to hurt b/c i'm putting more weight on it. Why is my knee doing this!?

had a baseball injurie 2 years ago. Twisted ligamates. Just recently I re-injured it while jumping up in down in a mad drunken state of mine doing the Irish Gig. Will I be able to ever have my knee back to normal?

I smashed my finger by mistake off some wooden steps over 3 weeks ago. I thought it was staved despite the fact it was very swollen at the time. I ignored it as I could still bend it and it wasnt pass out pain. The problem is it still hurts and is a bit swollen and may be slightly crooked but that might just be me being paranoid. If it wasn't broken I would have thought that it maybe wouldnt hurt now. And what should I do about it anyway. My GP is just too busy so I can't get an appointment and keep working as I need the money. Any suggestions?

I am considering ankle fusion surgery for correction of a congenital defect known as tarsal coalition. Please let me know if the fusion corrected your pain and if the surgery was worth it.

I'm considering on letting my nose piercing close up. I have had nothing but trouble with it. Any one know if it leaves a big scar? Should I reconsider? The reason why i have decided to let it go is because I cannot find a nose ring that suits me. I'll take any suggestions on what I should do.

lost my home in a fire, lost savings in the market, losing med ins and monthly stipend from employer, want to move from this horrible gov. apt to another state, hope to work part-time at some point but cannot stand or walk all day, anybody know something very specific to do? bad heart problems but face being on the street on my next birthday. rather od and step out. not a religious person. when my house burned i found out how useless things like red cross and the "charities" are. it was a disaster and they were still giving out billions to the people for hurricaine katrina, but as it turns out i am not a minority and help was rejected right and left. i am white and proud and don't look that bad. it is a fourway bypass and diabetes and nurorpathy etc. that they don't see. i located near my brother a couple of years ago and he died. i was okay until the house burned. okay with diabetic problems and then the heart surgery topped off by the fire -- only the clothes i was wearing.

And, don't tell me to read the books, I have many times, tell me your emotions about the injury. How do you act around a brain injured person, hopefully not like they are stupid or slow, most of the time they can understand what you are saying, so you can use bigger words then 3 little words. Don't treat them like you are better then them.

Okay, about two hours ago, my husband got up out of bed to use the bathroom. A minute later I heard a big crash and I ran to find him laying on the bathroom floor, not moving. I freaked out obviously! I woke him up and checked him out, he could get up but was very dizzy and he wanted to get back into bed. I carefully got him there but he had broken out in a major league sweat. I dried him off, gave him a glass of water and he just went back to sleep.
He seems okay right now. He says that he was feeling dizzy in the bathroom and next thing he knows he woke up on the floor. He has a bump on the back of his head.
Does this seem "emergency room" worthy, (he really doesn't want to go) or should I just stay home from work and keep an eye on him. What would you do? Did he just faint or something?

On Nov 22nd'2006 I met with an accident wherein a vehicle ran over the edge of my left foot leaving the toe dislocated and with a couple of minor fractures. The latest xrays have revealed that the dislocated toe has been properly fixed and all but one fracture healed. However, the swelling is there and as a result I am still not able to support myself using both feet or walk normally. Every day, I am giving a lukewarm water massage to the left foot.

Please help me with some great ideas/solutions to reduce the 3 to 4 days time as I can't remain partially active as far as my work is concerned. Awaiting your positive response.

Our treadmill's belt has been broken and I had twins a little over a year ago so needless to say, exercise has been minimal. Well we finally just got the belt replaced and me, in all my eagerness to jumpstart my New Years Resolution of losing the pregnancy weight got going right away.

I know I probably should have started slow and worked my way up but I didn't think I did too much too soon, but apparently I did? Last night I started with a speed of about 3.5 - 4 and had it inclined to a 4 or 5 I think. I was only on it for maybe 5 minutes before I had to do something for the kids. I didn't trip or lose my footing, nothing.

About fifteen minutes later my left ankle started to hurt whether it was elevated or being walked on. Just sitting makes it ache; walking hurts and I actually have to walk with a limp. My husband says the ankle appears slightly swollen. Its just as painful today. If I bend my foot inwards (towards my right leg) it flares up in pain. What did I do??
