My husband has been out of work for a little over a year , he is on very strong pain meds and will be having back surgery. He also has an aortic aneurysm and a few other things. He has seen a medical doctor and three orto doctors who all say that he , even with surgery will not work again. He gets a small disability check thru his employer. However , when he applied for Social Security he was denied. According to the letter, although is is deemed disabled by his physicians, there team of medical professionals has determined he is not disabled. Are they telling me that 4 very fine doctors are wrong. And their team of professionals consists of nurses and physicians assistants. We now have a lawyer who says it is a waiting game. They do this to push people to give up and go back to work or hope that the terminally ill will die before they have to pay out. This is so wrong. My husband has worked 40 years and never asked for help, he has paid for this benefit many years. Any thoughts?

I dont know why I was stabbed, I was in the middle of biology class when the guy next to me grabs his pens and stabs me in my left arms, it bled somewhat.

It now has a scab and there is red around it and the upper part of my arm before my elbow feels very stiff as if someone was holding it back.

I recently healed my hamstring on the right leg from a sports injury, (although still acts up after running) but now my left one is killing me. I haven't done any sports related things in four days and it just occured today. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary that would disturb my leg.

I have had my elbow drained several times over the last two years but it keeps filling up with fluid. Will surgery solve the problem. At times the pain is unbearable. The circulation gets cut off to my hand when I bend the elbow for a period of time. What can I do?

I used to play football and injured my knee pretty badly. As a result i got my football scholarships snatched up from me and went through a long period of depression. I gained a lot of weight and i'm really trying to get back in shape. What are some of the best cardio exercises..that will make the most impact on weight loss and are easy on the knees. This killed me because my knee injur was so severe doctors said if i took the wrong hit my career is completely over. I was a fullback too...so...i was always taking hits.
so much for my USC, UCLA, ASU, OHIO STATE scholarships

I work at a factory, I sequence parts for GM. I was sitting at my desk when another employee ran in to me with a tugger. A tugger is a car-like machine that hauls train like carts of commidities, and loads them in a semi truck. He had jumped off the tugger while it was moving and it coasted into me. At the time I fractured a rib, and went back to work the following monday. About a month later I started having back problems. They got worse and it has been about 4-5 months now. I have a buldging disc in my back and a build up of spinal fluid in one spot causing me to have numbness in all my extremidies. I have seen several doctors and specialist. My current doc is a neroligist, and he reports the current status of my injury is directly related to the accident. I didn't claim workers comp at first, so I believe it is slowing down the prossess. I am now talking to a lawyer.

I had numbness on one side and blinded in one eye and i could not talk .I was transported by ambuance to ER and admitted.I had an MRI ..reluts were no apparent stroke.they said i ''may have had a seizure''
The thing is when i returned to my work and ever day life, everyone said my personality had changed.I used to stand back and just do as i was told and never complaine. The first day back i told my boss to back off and leave me alone. My co-workers were shocked and amazed.I was also surprised because I never did this before and it seems like i have gradually become more out spoken and sarcastic and less cooperative..It'slike the old me died..Could they have missed something that caused these changes in my personality?

I was diagnosed with epicondylities in both arms from using the computer. I have had the problem for at least 6 months now and the pain in my elbows has subsided but now my problem is with the outer (top) muscles in my forearms. These muscles are always under tension and if I bend my wrist back the muscles go really hard and I can see and feel them from my elbow down to about half way on my forearm. I can also see and feel that the muscles closer to my wrist are also 'puffy' and I can feel knots starting to form in this area.

I am wearing an elbow strap, having ultrasound therapy and applying ice frequently and it only seems to be relieving the pain and not fixing the problem.

Are these normal symptoms for epicondylities? As I said, my elbows do not hurt anymore, only my forarms and wrists? Please help!

I was in yoga last night doing the warrier pose. I felt good and it's been 8 months since my arthroscopic surgery. Suddenly, I had this hot sensation on the left side of my kneecap that was not very pleasant. Anyone know what that is? Is that indicative of more tearing?

At this moment i am at a state of emergency, I got my ears pierce last saturday. Everything was fine till now, I woke up an saw that my one of my earrings were missing, my left ear is fine, but right ear wasn't i saw that the earring in my right ear wasn't there but stuck in my ear, now im panicking cause its not coming out, i called my friend she said that i should soak it in the antiseptic and twirl it till it come out, but its hurt but not much, the problem is that i think that the swelling is preventing from it to come out, and this is in my lower lobe which i had pierced, because when i was younger the person whom did my ears had it the middle, so now i took the other one out so it won't happen. Now i am in panic mood..Do i have to go to the hopstial to be removed, or should i continue putting the antiseptic and twirling it to come out.

A few years ago I had severe sciatica and MRIs showed that I had bulges or tears in a couple of lumbar discs. A couple of days ago, I was doing a forward stretch in yoga and since then I've had some pain, but only when I get up from a seated position and at certain movements. The pain is very mild and I have not felt the need for medication or have not curtailed my activities, except for not doing all the exercises I usually do. But I am getting pins and needles (paresthesia) on the bottom of one foot, which probably indicates sciatic nerve involvement.

However, when I had sciatica in the past, I had severe pains in my leg. I have no pain there now.

I am not insured right now and want to know if I can just rest and the herniated disc will heal or if I must have medical care if the symptoms do not worsen. (I do understand that cauda equina syndrome symptoms are a medcal emergency.)

Can I get away with not seein a doctor? Should I stop exercising and stretching?

I was sitting crosse-legged on bed and left ankle popped and had intense pain for next few minutes. After pain dulled, I stood and ankle feels stable but 24 hours later is still sore and I'm limping. no swelling or bruising. I haven't injured it but I'm on my feet from 5am until 11pm daily as a nurse and mom of 3 kids. I have arthritis and hx of knee injuries with surgery. This popping/pain thing happens with my knees but never with ankles before. any ideas?

I sprained by ankle at Basketball practice yesterday. It's a bad sprain. I completely rolled it when coming down from a rebound. The pain has not gone away any since but some of the swelling is down. Now it's just as big as a que ball. I'm on cructches and it's wrapped. Im following Dr's orders and doing the RICE thing; Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. I'm also taking 600 mgs. of Motrin every 6 hrs. for the pain. If there is no change by tomorrow I have to go back and they'll check for a Fracture. I think it's just a severe sprain though. What the Dr. didn't tell me was how long it would be before I can participate in practice and get back into the games. Our schedule ends in Feb. and I want to play!! How long do you think I'll be out???
