I was diagnosed with epicondylities in both arms from using the computer. I have had the problem for at least 6 months now and the pain in my elbows has subsided but now my problem is with the outer (top) muscles in my forearms. These muscles are always under tension and if I bend my wrist back the muscles go really hard and I can see and feel them from my elbow down to about half way on my forearm. I can also see and feel that the muscles closer to my wrist are also 'puffy' and I can feel knots starting to form in this area.

I am wearing an elbow strap, having ultrasound therapy and applying ice frequently and it only seems to be relieving the pain and not fixing the problem.

Are these normal symptoms for epicondylities? As I said, my elbows do not hurt anymore, only my forarms and wrists? Please help!

There are two types of epicondylitis - lateral and medial. the lateral form is tennis elbow, and the medial form is golfer's elbow. It sounds like you may have both forms. Golfer's elbow extends down to the wrist. Overly tight muscles are one of the reasons that epicondylitis develops in the first place, so inflammation makes thing even worse.

You probably need to add some stretching to your treatments, and maybe need to figure out how to eliminate the cause by changing the ergonomics of your work area.

I had a cortisone shot 5 weeks ago, my elbow felt fine for 3 weeks but then my elbow pain came roaring back worse than before the injection. I have been using this tennis elbow secrets program now for 5 days and my elbow feels much better. I can really feel my arm getting stronger as each day passes.

Icing is helpful in numbing the pain and constricting the vasodilation, but you are missing the compression component.

Cold Compression Therapy Wraps combine icing with compression to drive the cold deep into the inflamed soft tissues. The combination reduces swelling and pain while the body heals itself.

Cold should only be used 15 minutes at a time, but compression is useful for much longer periods.

The condition you are trying to solve is the swelling and inflammation. Once that is under control, with some degree of rest, the body will heal the underlying minute tears which are causing the problem.

Good Luck

Sounds like it might be carpel tunnel starting. Ask the therapist that does your treatments for his/her opinion and then see the doc.
