i have braces. a couple nights ago my sister snuck up on me and jumped on my back but she hit my mouth when she did that. now i have 2 cuts on the inside of my bottom lip. it hurts really bad to eat things cuz the cuts will either rub against my braces or against the food. is there any way that i can get it to stop hurting?

Try using that stuff that mothers by for their teething babies..I think it's called Ambisol...not the correct spelling I'm sure.

Ask your orthodontist for some wax that they give you when you get braces. It's free and it's meant to keep the the braces from rubbing so much on the inside of your mouth.

i had this problem too.. try applying glycerine.. it helps in healin the cut.. and what i did so that the braces dont touch the cut was that i stuck pieces of bubble gum after chewing them on to the braces.. it looks funny but it helped..do it when u r at home.. cant go out like tat.. within 2-3 days u wil get used to it.. hope it helps..

so sorry to hear about it .but you see saliva it self is a very good medicine .yes it will take minimum of 3 to 5 days if you do not hurt in the same place again and again .you could use salt water and gargle ,it would burn a little but will heal faster i promise .you should take vitamin C tablets too which help this type of cuts. wishing you fast healing and recovery.

Gargle with warm salt water a few times a day and spit. Don't swallow. The salt in the water will actually help the healing a little bit faster.

there is a throat spray used to suppress the urge to cough. it also works well on numbing mouth sores.
