it really does hurt... New Years Eve I slammed it in to a trunk chest and badly bruised it... I dislocated it at first and put it back in place... I did go to the ER and had X-Rays done and it showed to be not broken... The doctor told me that pushing back the dislocated can be harmful but that i did do it correctly.... They gave me some painkillers and then taped my toes together... it was one of my small toes and not the big one...
