I have had pain in my knee for about 7 weeks now. I believe it is from heavy exercise routines which I did up until it started hurting me. I went to a fantastic orthopedic surgeon who is a sports medicine doctor who specializes in the knee. He did a clinical exam (where he bent my knee around) and I also got an MRI. He told me that there are no tears or any signs of anything being wrong in my knee. However, he did mention that it looks like a have a VERY SMALL touch of arthritis on the underside of my knee cap.

This is all very frustrating to me because the pain that is bothering me is on the medial side (inner side) of my left knee.

Further background: I have NO history of knee problems (or any other physical problems). My pain did not result from a "sudden injury" like a tackle. I have full range of motion. There has never been any swelling or bruising. I have iced my knee and taken NSAID's (Alleve, etc). My knee doesn't "catch, lock or click"... Any REAL advice would be great!

I'm 16 and I have been suffering from serious lower back pain on my right side for around a week now. I've tried stretching, using an icy-hot patch, bengay and taking those pills that relax muscles but I've had no avail..

it hurts!

is there a way I can stretch out this muscle [if you wear pants that hit your hips its the muscle just above your hip] out or dull the pain?

Please respond with helpful answers.. I've got cross country practice at 7am tomorrow and soccer practice at 6:30pm and I need this to be dulled or gone..

I don't know, everyone I know has had at least one, "oh, gross!" accident in their lifetime. I'm getting of scared of having mine-- seeing that it hasn't happened yet.
I know several people who have been run over by cars, fallen off stuff, gotten in car accidents, got severely burned, gotten limbs almost cut off... some are carelessness, but most of them are innocent freak accidents.
I've kind of accepted that something like that will eventually happen to me, and it's kind of a scary thought.
So, what I'm asking is-- does everyone eventually have one experience in their life that results in a bloody massacre of their body?
I'm the adventurous type, so I think I'm a prime candidate.
Does anyone else find the thought of being the target of a crazy freak accidents just a little frightening?

I got a tattoo on my wrist 5 days ago and was told not to swim for 3 weeks until it heals. I'd like to continue swimming, so I'm looking for a way to waterproof the area. Anybody know how to effectively do this?

Thanks!

my grandfather just lost his footing on the stair by my back patio and hurt his shoulder. he says he can move it if his other arm supports it but it is painful to try to move it by itself. he says he doesn't believe that he has broken it, but i was wondering if there are any doctors out there who could possible give me an idea of what he actually hurt. thank you very much.

I tore my left ACL (nothing else) playing intramural basketball in March '05. I had it rebuilt using an allograft (cadaver tissue) in May '05. I never regained total stability within my knee, and when playing sports, I find that my knee will slip as it did before the surgery. I currently have a large knee brace that helps moderately. Any suggestions on what I can do for stability?

My second question is I am experiencing a great deal of popping and crackling within that same knee - much more so than pre-injury/surgery. Has anyone else encountered this as well?

My final question is do people with this type of knee injury discover they develope arthritis in the injured knee? I have experienced some (possible) early signs of arthritis, and wanted to know if this is common or just dumb luck.

Thank you!

I don't know what's wrong, but it's been hurting for over a year. Ever since I gave birth to my daughter last June. Our family dr. doesn't think it's related, but I'm not convinved. The muscle relaxers he prescribed have no effect on the pain and I don't know what kind of doctor to see next. Any advice?

I had a weird question, I was wondering if people that were anemic and/or and a diminished immune system (such as AIDS) were less susceptible to swelling , as well as getting acne.

Yes this is out of pure curiosity.
