I'm 16 and I have been suffering from serious lower back pain on my right side for around a week now. I've tried stretching, using an icy-hot patch, bengay and taking those pills that relax muscles but I've had no avail..

it hurts!

is there a way I can stretch out this muscle [if you wear pants that hit your hips its the muscle just above your hip] out or dull the pain?

Please respond with helpful answers.. I've got cross country practice at 7am tomorrow and soccer practice at 6:30pm and I need this to be dulled or gone..

Lower back pain on your right side could be your kidney. You should go immediately to a doctor. Let's say it is not your kidney and it is a muscle, your muscle is in trauma and what you are doing (the exercises) is adding to the problem and enhancing the pain. Please stop now and go to a doctor so test can be done to see what the problem is. If you don't (and I know you are busy and very active but you need to take time out to attend to this injury or problem) you are probably going to land in the hospital. Talk with your parents and get medical help immediately. Please go.......... there is no quick fix here, you've already tried.

if you have tried everything for a muscle and it hasn't helped, it might be your right kidney or ovary causing pain.
As much as it sucks to miss sports and school you need to go see your doctor tomorrow and tell them everything you have done to get rid of the pain and that it is still there. The Dr will be able to help you alot more then anyone over the internet- because there are some tests that can be run to see what is (or is not) causing your pain.

I suffer from the same ailment, and the only thing that i have found to be very helpful is to rest on my leather ottoman, I know this seems strange but no medication or stretches ever continuously relieved my lower back pain like resting for a few minutes a day on my ottoman.Try it out it may work for you as well.

I agree with some of the other posts. As long as you are not having bleeding or a fever, call your OB in the morning and let them decide what to do. You can take tylenol during pregnancy so go ahead and try a warm bath. The hormones of pregnancy cause the cartilage in the hips and pelvis to relax, most people don't notice it with first babies but the second one can happen very early on and be uncomfortable. It definitely does not sound like an emergency and it really is a waste to go to the ER when they will likely tell you to call your OB in the morning. It is an expensive pregnancy test.

I used to take 2 Alleve pain relievers, which usually worked. Drinking more water helped me, when I played soccer. After that... see a doctor.

hmm the pain you seem like your talking about sounds like its coming from your kidney you might want to go to the doctors and get that checked out because it could be a kidney stone but I'm not 100% sure so get checked out. the sooner the better just too make sure its not a kidney stone because those are really painful

I have a small intern curve in my column and that gave me back pains every day for about a year. I went to the doctor and he told me to do swimming. It really helped. You should also go see a doctor just in case.

You might have a UTI (urinary tract infection). Sometimes it goes higher into the ureters and kidneys. One of the signs is back pain. This can be serious. You should see a doctor ASAP.

If the pain radiates to lower abdomen from your back and associated with some urinary problem it may be renal colic(may be because of stone).Sometimes this pain is also associated with nausea.best way is to consult a doctor.
