If gun makers knew the names of the people they kill would it make them stop the killing?

No. Not anymore than telling car manufacturers the names of people killed in automobile collisions (not all of which are accidental), telling aircraft manufacturers the names of people killed in airplane crashes, or munitions manufacturers the names of people killed in bombings.

However your question does generate two questions.

1. What would make you think telling a gun manufacturer the name of someone killed intentionally or unintentionally with one of his products would lead him to alter his behavior.

2. Assuming for the sake of the discussion that the gun make is acting legally --- How do you expect a gun maker to alter the behavior of people who use his product after he sells it off. How would that be possible - ask the buy not to shoot people?

I am getting so tired of the stupid people in this world that believe that guns kill people. Guns can't load themselves and move to the people that they dislike and kill them. People move the gun and kill people. I am going to tell you something if you had a gun in your closet and somebody that you didn't like went to your house, would you gun suddenly come out of the closet on their own. The answer is no because guns are only an item. There is nothing wrong with making and selling guns. Guns are good to hunt animals with. Since you don't like guns you are probably against hunting too. Guns are good not bad.

If you want to outlaw guns then everything would need to be outlawed because anything can kill someone. Pencils, bats, glass, etc... ANYTHING

Guns don't kill people. People do. And they use BULLETS in those guns. Does that mean a bullet ban should be started. And then maybe we could start a movement to have human hands removed because those are used in strangulations. Knives of all kinds should be banned too. And cars. Those things are way too dangerous.

the gun makers aren't killing anyone, the person who pulled the trigger did the killing. When someone is killed in a car wreck due to a DUI we don't blame the car, we blame the person that was driving drunk.

well, the gun makers themselves don't kill people, the same way that guns don't kill people... the people with the guns kill people

gun makers don't kill people, people with guns kill people. And even if you were to take guns away from people and outlaw them altogether, people will still find a way to kill one another.

If you outlaw guns, then only outlaws will have them.

Probably not. I once knew a gun owner who had so much respect for his Holand gun that he named his daughter after it.
