I feel off a bouncy hopper the night before my sister's wedding, and had to limp aroud in a Karen Millen dress and one stiletto. With a broken toe.

Can you beat that?

I recently have had a very sore back and neck combination that has lasted almost a week. I have "slept wrong" before and experienced similar pain, but never this bad or for this long. I feel it down my arm, up my neck, and right in the middle part of my upper back. What can this be and how can I make the pain less severe?

Several years ago I had arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn medial menicus. I've had several injuries to that knee, over the years, and have arthritis and have long suspected that a Baker's cyst has developed behind my knee. I had all the symtoms. The other day I tripped and fell, hitting the front, lower part of my bad knee on the floor. It was very sore and stiff and felt tight and warm to the touch for two days. Then, the pain subsided, the tightness went away and my knee feels better than it has in ages. I still have a little tenderness where I hit the floor but I'm thinking that the jolt bursted the Baker's cyst. I can now straighten my leg out, the tightness/pressure is gone and the puffiness and ache around my knee has subsided considerably. I can't believe how much better my knee feels, it's amazing. My question is...if I did indeed burst a cyst, will it come back? Anything I can do to prevent it from coming back?

I do not have health insurance. I saw on Discovery Health that you could use leeches and a sewing kit to put them back on. I have the bleeding under control. I have a sewing kit in the attic. Where is a good place to catch leeches. Should I look under rocks and in the basement?

I stepped on something and punctured my foot. I don't know what it was and couldn't find it or see it. It didn't bleed and doesn't seem particularly deep. I cleaned it out and have been covering it with Neosporin and bandages. My husband and I have looked at the wound (a tiny pin hole) and can't see anything stuck in there. It hurts like the Dickens when I step on it, sharp pain. I called the doctor. Anyone had this happen before? What can the doctor do? I'm not normally scared of the doctor's, but I can't stand injections and hope he doesn't cut into my foot. Please put my anxiety at ease.
My last tetanus was 1997. It's still good, right?

I am 13 and yesterday was on my friends trampoline and she fell on me. At first my fingers went numb and had a bad pain through my arm, and then pins and needles. After about 5 mins it wore off. But today, It hurts everytime I stretch it. When i straighten my arm out it hurts in the middle, at my elbow. When I dangle it by my side it feels like my hand is about to get cramp and its a bit painful. When it is bent though It is fine. What is wrong? please help thanks

I broke the #2 and #3 toes on my right foot, they have healed and when |I hurt my foot and leg, my leg was x-rayed and they found nothing. I still have tremendous pain in the bottome of my foot and in my leg. physical therapy only makes it worse. They have tried a tens unit and that makes the pain worse. The physical therapist said I might possibly have damaged muscles and tendons, and my podiatrist wants me to see a physical science Dr. He says I may have RSD. I know my body and I know something is wrong with my leg mainly because I cannot move my foot up and down and I cannot move my toes, I try to move them but it almost seems like they are paralized. I have asked for an MRI or Cat scan and if my Dr. doesn't agree, I will probably get a 2nd opinion. SOmeone please tell me what I should do.

I twisted my knee inward when I landed after a layup(basketball). It will be 2 weeks on wednesday since it happened, and I can't even stand on it. Also I can't bend it all the way back, or straighten it. I already had an MRI, and I am waiting to see what my results. But I would like some opionions if anyone else has had a similar problem. So I want to know what type of surgery I will need. And how long I will be out for.

and since I have had my kneecap come out of place in the past that is the first thing I assumed..but it looked fine visually, but the pain was agonizing, and swelling occured about less then a minute afterwards.and right now (2 hours later) the pain is still pretty moderate and I cant walk on my leg(im using crutches to move around now) Well basically I am asking if I should consider the ER or maybe schedule an appointment to see a doctor and get an x-ray to see if anything is fractured or out of place? also I cannot lift my left leg at all unless I use my hand or my other leg to lift it.

I am disabilied, but look just like everyone else; why do they treat me like I have a plague, or send me to work in jobs I would never have worked at if I didn't get this wonderful disability bestowed on me?

She hit her head badly on the ceramic floor. She kept ice on it all night. She seems ok now just a little bit of headache now and then. She has a little bleeding mark on the back of her head like when you scratch your head too much. However her memory, and consciousness is fine. Doing well otherwise, eating, cooking, doing normal activities. Can she be considered safe by now? She is very reluctant to see a doctor and I cannot take her becuase she lives out of U.S.A.

I play a lot of rugby and train on mud/grass. Somehow I have developed bad shin splints even though I don't run on tarmac. Does anyone know the best way to get rid of shin splints once you have them. And secondly the best way to prevent them returning. I have tried orthotic insoles and also extra stretching. Thanks

I have dislocated my shoulder 6 times over the past 9 years. The last 3 times have been within 18 months.
The worst time was last week, when my shoulder went so far back, I was taken to casualty and sedated to have it put back. I was told that part of my shoulder blade has never formed and I will need surgery but the consultant never explained what types of surgery are on offer, and I have heard nothing since. This was 2 weeks ago and the pain is still there and I can feel my shoulder click when I move it back and forth. The slightest free stretch or knock can cause it to 'pop out'
Anyone any suggestions as to what I should do? Do I wait to hear from the hospital or go to see my gp? Does 6 times seem normal and still not have surgery? I have tried physiotherapy to strenthen the muscle tissue but it hasnt worked.

I sprained my ankle about a week ago. I can walk on it fine, no pain at all. Its stil swollen. But every sence, my middle toe would get numb and tingle. It happens like all the time. Is something else wrong? And how long does it take to heal sprained ankles? Im in physical therapy and doing everything the docter says. No pain, I can walk and the docter still says 8 weeks till i can start playing bball again. Its killing me here not to be able to play. Does anyone think that is to long?

My ankle has been sprained a few times and even now it gets sore easily. When I wear high heels for long periods, which I don't that often, it swells. I'd just like to know if there is anything I can do to help strengthen it. Don't bother telling me to never wear heels, that's unlikely!

I just got my nose done and they had to put a tube down my throat which caused me to have a SUPER soar throat! IT's been three days and I can still hardly swallow water. I've been using some Chloraseptic spray. I'm getting throat lozenges. Any other things you would suggest?
