You have a higher chance of more scarring for the stitches if you leave them in too long. It's best to get stitches out as soon as possible.

I had 10 stitches in my forehead, The wound was very deep and I didn't feel they were ready to come out when the doctor ordered. So I left them in a few extra days. My scar healed wonderfully considering how deep it was!!

Why would you want to leave your stiches in longer than the Dr. says? Do you feel that your stiches aren't ready to come out? I would listen to whatever my dr. suggests. Also, if that isn't good enough for you then I would call up dr.s' and/or hospitals and get their different advice on this matter.

No. For cosmetic reasons, facial sutures are removed as soon as possible to avoid the railroad track scaring. The face is very vascular, so it heals quickly. Just keep the area dry

The skin will start to grow to the stitches. It will hurt more when they remove them and can cause infection

Why would you want to do that? Do you think the Dr doesn't know what he is talking about?

Follow your Dr's instructions.
