I got a cold sore last week and its healing as of now but I see another red little bump on the other side of lip. Could it be possible I am getting another cold sore. How is that possible?

I work in a hospital and on occasion there are AIDs patients and a few HIV patients. It seems that with the PC campaign about the disease, I think people have forgotten how cruel that disease can be. People with HIV have to make frequent trips to the hospital, take loads of medication, and it is expensive. AIDs is another story. I wouldn't wish advanced stages on my worst enemy.

My girlfriend was recently diagnosed as hiv positive. She nor I was aware she was Hiv positive till about 5 days ago. I am testing negative. But the thing is the doctors said she only has 4 t-cells. Does that mean she has had Hiv for a long time or could her t-cell number get that low in just about 3 months?

I'm so embarassed to talk about it, but I don't know whom to turn to with this problem. I have this sort of blister in my butt and it just won't go away. I had a couple of the same kind during last summer but they eventually diminished. And this one is much worse because it doesn't seem to get smaller and I am worried. Sometimes it makes even difficult for me to go to the restroom because that thing becomes kinda painful afterwards. And I have absolutely no idea what to do about it! What if it never disappears?! What am I gonna do???

A couple years ago, I found out I had HPV and had to get a laserlization on my cervix. The dysplasia was removed but I was told that I wasn't cured from HPV. My then boyfriend and I broke up and now I am with my new boyfriend who (as far as we can know) does not have HPV. We've been together for a while actually and he wants to have sex without a condom (because I am also on the pill). I've told him about my sexual history, but he still insists that he wants to do it.

Is it possible that he will get HPV and pass it on if we were to break up? I'd feel horrible having sex with him, breaking up, and then his next partner contracting my STD.

I do plan on asking my GYN next week when I get my annual, I was just wondering what you all think :)

i ask that because i have heard that the herpes virus is defeated by our immune system, but the virus is very small and has the ability to hid in the nerve cells in the spine, and the white blood cells cant get to them there, until there is a stress reaction that causes them to come out.

Were else does the herpes virus hide?

I found out I had genital herpes in January. My boyfriend got a blood test and he tested negative. I must have gotten it from a previous partner. My boyfriend was very supportive about the disease and we were careful so he never contracted it. Recently, we broke up (not because of the disease). I'm sure I'm not ready to start dating again yet, but when I am I'm not sure how to go about it. I know I have to tell my partners and I will continue to be careful. Can I date those who don't have herpes? Will they be willing to date me? Help!

He used a condom, but i realized after i got up that ejaculate was seeping out, so right then i knew it broke. Today, i took a plan B pill and i'm going to take the second one in twelve hours. Still, what are the chances of the pill not being effective? and what are the chances of contracting an STD? He's only used a condom once before, but he has had sex quite a few times, with quite a few girls.
i know that you'll say " get tested!!!!!"
but, thing is, i'm only fifteen ( yeah yeah, i know, too young ) and i have no way of getting to a clinic or the doctor's office.

should i be worried?

Hello, I am so so scared at the moment.I had unprotected sex with a bouncer and now I am so scared that I could have caught diseases. Especially HIV? I have been having a sore throat and my hands have that "pins and needles" feeling in them. I am taking a trip down to the GU clinic on Monday but wondered if anyone could put my mind at risk. I have slept with 10 people and used protection. I know i never had anything before having un-protected sex. I cant think straight. I just wondered if anybody would be able to tell me what my chances are in getting HIV? Please help

Lets say for instance...On somebody's hand,so thats in air
Lets just say a guy fingers a girl for a while,the girl has HIV or AIDS,how long could this virus live on his hand OUTSIDE the host til it is gone/dead

Recently I was tested for Stds because I have been having frequent UTI's and the doc thought it was a good idea to rule out an infection as a possibility. Everything was negative.

Well, it made me wonder something about bacterial Stds.
Suppose a person has one and doesn't know, would it be possible for it to go away if they took antibiotics for another condition, like a uti?

Are antibiotics that generic? Or would the infection stay until they took a certain kind designed just for the std?

I hope that makes sense.
