I got a cold sore last week and its healing as of now but I see another red little bump on the other side of lip. Could it be possible I am getting another cold sore. How is that possible?

It is possible. I battle with them also and I have gotten two at one time before. I would suggest going to the store and buying abreva. It is expensive, but it helps. If that doesn't work, go to the doctor and they will give you a prescription for stronger medication.

Sure, it's possible.

People can get a couple cold sores at a time, or get another one while one is healing. You don't have to necessarily get one at a time.

Genital herpes outbreaks are usually several sores, not just one.

Genital herpes and cold sores are caused by the same virus - the herpes simplex virus. Usually cold sores are caused by herpes simplex virus 1, while genital herpes are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 2, but BOTH cold sores and genital herpes can be caused by either herpes simplex virus 1 or 2.

Absolutely. Once you have the herpes simplex virus, it remains in your system forever, so you can get a cold sore at any time.

For the protection of others, refrain from kissing and oral sex while you have a cold sore present.
