No.

If a person ONLY has genital herpes and you kiss them on the mouth you can NOT get genital herpes. In order to get genital herpes from them you would need to have sex with that person or have DIRECT skin to skin contact with the genital area of that person.

If a person has cold sores (oral herpes) and you kiss them, then you can get cold sores from them, but not genital herpes.

Herpes is spread through skin to skin contact. If there is an open lesion you increase your risk of becoming infected with the virus. If you know your partner has herpes chances are you have it already . Many people carry the virus and are unaware which is why it has become such a big issue. 1 in five people have herpes.

The only way not to be exposed to herpes is to live in a Tower locked away from the world

The important thing is to manage the outbreaks take care of general health and if your partner has herpes consider whether suppression therapy is warranted to minimise your exposure.

But out break or not if you have had intimate contact you have already been exposed..sorry but a fact

By the way have it and I am a Registered Nurse And It can be a hassle but easy to live with and you have to be honest

If you are 'kissing' their private parts which are infected. As it is genital herpes you are inquiring about not hepes complex.

Then yes you will be infected in the mouth with still genital herpes.

But YOU WILL NOT become infected with the genital herpes if you are just kissing their mouth.

If you have unprotected sexual intercourse with someone who is infected then yes again. You will become infected.

If someone has genital herpes & you kiss them on the mouth, I'm pretty sure you can't get it that way. But if you kiss them on the genitals...possibly ( probably).
When you have a cold sore on your mouth or lips, it is also herpes & can be spread mouth to mouth & mouth to genitals , thus becoming genital herpes. Never kiss sores !!!!

The herpes is located on their genitals, it is not transmitted through their mouth, so no, if they only have genital herpes, and you kiss them, they cannot give you anything.

If they have oral herpes (cold sores/fever blisters), and they kiss you, you can get cold sores on your mouth - oral herpes - but not genital herpes because they have only made contact with your mouth and the virus stays localised.

If they have oral herpes and give you oral sex, you can get genital herpes this way, even if they do not currently have a cold sore. This is how I caught genital herpes and it is a very common way to catch it nowadays with oral sex being so popular and eight out of ten people having oral herpes...

If they have genital herpes, you could possibly catch cold sores on your mouth through giving them oral sex, but the only way you are going to get genital herpes from them is through direct genital to genital contact. And even this is not guaranteeed as they are not infectious all the time. For example, someone with the hsv-1 herpes virus genitally would be infectious about 3-4% of the time, someone with hsv-2 about 16% of the time.
