Alright, i know you all must think I am dumb but please be honest. I had sex twice...My partner was Virgin and did not have any STD. Should I still get tested for an STD?

I talked to my former partner, he just got a physical and it's all clear. If he had any STD they would not let him into sports. He was Virgin becuase he had no idea what he was doing and he confirmed it with me. so do you think i need to be checked?

Just out of curiosity...why would they not let him play sports if he has a STD?

I personally have genital herpes and HPV and I was very active in sports in high school. I played softball and was on the dance team. They can't tell you that you can't play sports because you have a STD!

Also, was your boyfriend tested for STDs, or just given a physical? Those two things are VERY different. A person needs to specifically ask to be tested for STDs, they don't automatically test you when you get a physical done.

And, lastly, there is NO test to detect HPV in men. So, it's basically impossible for him to be tested for that. Most men are unaware they have HPV until they develop genital warts (if they ever do). Not all kinds of HPV cause genital warts, so he could have the virus and not even know.

If you are concerned you have a STD then get tested! It's better to be safe than sorry! Good luck!

Well that depends...

Did you use a condom? Did you practice safe sex?

I know we want to believe our partners... after all were are being intimate is all about trust.

However, One must always be careful. Regardless of what they tell us. Id reccomend a trip to you gyn, get al;l your tests.. not just stds.. PAP and breast examinations.. and ALWAYS practice safe sex.

Hope that helps! :)

Once you are sexually active, it is responsible to be checked every 6 months unless you are in a monogamous relationship (like marriage). Ignore what the guys tell you about their past history... STDs carry serious risks to you that may go undetected in guys (like infertility and cervical cancer).

no they don't check for stds in physicals.. you have to ask the doctor for one. And its not true that they wont let you play sports if you have an std ...they're not supposed to know its confidential

I would recommend going to the Sexually Transmitted Disease photo library at Dermnet. There they have thousands of pictures of the various STDs. This allows you to see the different proprieties of each disease and view the lesion in different locations.

If you are still concerned, please make an appointment with your primary care physician.

If your partner was indeed a virgin you should have no worries from that one partner.
