I am 40 years old and have 5 kids and a FT job. I am a supervisor of 10 ppl and work in Social work. I am also OCD and take med's for this. I am also taking Phentermine for wt. loss at the direction of my physician. I am about 30 lbs. overwt. and have lost 13 in the last month with the help of this medication. I am experiencing eye twitching and sort of like paralysis on one side of my face where my smile is distorted. Other people say they hardly notice but I can tell. It feels different to close my mouth. Feels like it does when you go to the dentist and get numbed. I wonder if this is from the diet pill. My Blood pressure has been good. At first I thought I had a stroke, then I decided it might have been an ear infection causing some swelling in my face, but the doctor said I had no infection. He said No Stroke either. WHich was a good thing. Said possibly Bells Palsy a slight case. It scares me. Does anybody know about this?

My husband had been having pain in his chest area, he already had been taking potassium supplements because he had been diagnosed with low potassium about a year ago, he also has really bad GERD.

My question is, he went to the ER a few weeks ago because he was having really bad chest pain and his heart beat was really weird. They did blood work, chest x-ray, and hooked him up to the heart monitor. They told him he was having PVC's and that the chest pain was probably related to his GERD.

He followed up with a regular visit to his DR. and gave him a new heartburn medication, and a antihistimine that is used for anxiety. His heartburn is pretty much gone and he is feeling better in that area, but he is still having chest pains daily and is very uncomfortable.

I am thinking this is due to his low potassium levels, which the Dr. said maybe we will look into why it is low your next visit if the medication didn't work. Has anyone else had this and what causes low potassium?

I've been experiencing muscle twitching everywhere the last couple of months.

Already been to the dr and I don't have any other symptoms for nasty diseases like ALS or MS. Just benign twitches and my dr said they are very common - probably stress.

I've never heard anybody mention being a 'twitcher' so I'm curious - any others out there?

I had my thyroid removed about 10 years ago due to Grave's disease and now I'm on .175 mg of levothyroxine daily. I ran out of prescriptions, and my pharmacy has been trying in vain for over week to get ahold of my doctor. I asked if I could have some in the meantime, and they gave me three pills. Those are gone now, and they said they can't give me anymore until they have a prescription. So now we're on day 10 and I'm getting really nervous.

I am sleeping about 15 hours a day, falling asleep pretty much every time I sit down. I'm feeling extremely down in the dumps for no reason. Can't seem to get myself in a good or motivated mood. I just feel like I'm going through the motions every day, like I'm not even here.

I'm getting myself worked up because I know I can die without thyroid hormone in my body, and I'm so upset that no one will give me the medication I need. Am I blowing this out of proportion? Am I going to be alright?

It is certainly a miracle drug. I have used it once at the emergency room for treatment of heat stroke. My heart was racing and it helped me relax and recuperate from my attack. I know I have read that there is abuse, but for those who truly need it for their illnesses, it is wonderful.

This is something I have just now noticed myself doing,

But my friends have noticed it for about 2 weeks now.

I'll just be sitting there and my arm will randomly jerk, without me even knowing it. My whole body does it too, just not as often as my arm.

I never used to do this...should I be concerned?

I had insurance at the time but not anymore. I tried to apply again for insurance but they put a rider on my policy saying that it awas a pre existing condition and they wouldn't cover it for a year. I had the surgery in September 2006. I applied to medicaid but they said I didn't qualify for medacaid because I don't have kids. I was supposed to go for a follow up in August but didn't go because I couldn't afford it. I'm in college and I work but I can't afford to pay for another surgey if something is wrong. Any advice on what I should do?
