I am 40 years old and have 5 kids and a FT job. I am a supervisor of 10 ppl and work in Social work. I am also OCD and take med's for this. I am also taking Phentermine for wt. loss at the direction of my physician. I am about 30 lbs. overwt. and have lost 13 in the last month with the help of this medication. I am experiencing eye twitching and sort of like paralysis on one side of my face where my smile is distorted. Other people say they hardly notice but I can tell. It feels different to close my mouth. Feels like it does when you go to the dentist and get numbed. I wonder if this is from the diet pill. My Blood pressure has been good. At first I thought I had a stroke, then I decided it might have been an ear infection causing some swelling in my face, but the doctor said I had no infection. He said No Stroke either. WHich was a good thing. Said possibly Bells Palsy a slight case. It scares me. Does anybody know about this?

It sounds like Bell's Palsy to me. This is an inflammation of one of the nerves in your face which causes these symptoms. Doctors usually put people on prednisone which is an anti-inflammatory when this occurs. This can take from several weeks to several months for the inflammation to decrease and the symptoms to go away. This often occurs to people during periods of stress.

I've experienced eye twitching and a paralysis on one side of my face which made my smile uneven. I went to the doctors to get it checked out and I ended up finding out I had bells palsy. You usually get it after a cold. But I ended up not having any signs of being sick before hand. The doctor ended giving me lubricant for my eye and eye drops so my eye wouldnt dry out cause of the paralization on had on one side which didnt allow me to close that eye all the way. He said it'd be 2 weeks to be normal. My doc offered steriods to help it. I rejected the offer. Mine healed on its own. You should be okay.

My sister is a TKM practitioner, and she healed a lady with Bells Palsy by her pulse-point methods. If you're interested in this, the e-mail is www.kinginstitute.org. You can find her posts on the board. Her name is Tammy.
