This is something I have just now noticed myself doing,

But my friends have noticed it for about 2 weeks now.

I'll just be sitting there and my arm will randomly jerk, without me even knowing it. My whole body does it too, just not as often as my arm.

I never used to do this...should I be concerned?

I'm 19 with no physical problems, (THAT I KNOW OF)
besides back problems, which affect lower half of body.

These things happen from time to time in many people. Often its a form of narcolepsy. Its not always possible to figure out exactly why they are happening, but one or more factors that can cause this are insufficient sleep, or disrupted sleep cycles, certain medications, alcohol, dehydration, overly tight muscles, muscle fatigue, and insufficient magnesium. You you can eliminate all of these factors by stretching, staying hydrated, taking a magnesium supplement, avoiding alcohol, and sticking to a regular sleep schedule with 8 hours per night. If it still happens, pay attention to the pattern and any other other symptoms that occur at the same time.
