Uggh... I feel your pain. That can be so painful. Keep on tylenol every 4-6 hours (recomended dosage of course). Try eating soup, or other soft things that you can mash with your tounge, such as bananas. Also try putting a warm (not hot) heating pad against your ear. Hope this helps.

Hi Blue Sanity
Here are some ideas to use to heal the condition.
Treat Both Ears: The simple, old-fashioned aids are sometimes very fast in giving relief. Always treat both ears, even if only one aches.
1.Garlic: When my little girl had an earache I put a piece of fresh garlic (cut) in her ear and it was better by morning. Wrap it in some cotton balls and place in each ear. Sometimes it doenst take long at all. The previous alternative was to go to the doctor and pay a lot of money for penicillin.
2. Onion: Lightly bake a large onion, cut it in half and while warm (not hot enough to irritate the area), bind one half of the onion over each ear. Bandage in place and hold bandage on with a nightcap, white skullcap, etc., and leave on all night.
3.Camomile: Use a fomentation over both ears of three parts of camomile and one part of lobelia. Take two ounces orally (a wineglass full) each two waking hours. Leave the fomentation on the ears all night. (Cover fomentation with plastic or oiled silk, etc.).
4. Mullein: Use three to six drops of mullein oil in both ears several times each day. Insert it upon retiring for the night, and, as before, plug the ears with cotton. Place a fomentation over the ears all night of three parts mullein and one part lobelia.
Best of health to you

Ouch!
If it's interfering with your ability to eat, or sleep comfortably, I'd probably go to the ER. Ear infections are common enough, and easy enough to diagnose, where I'm sure they won't hesitate to give you a prescription for an antibiotic if you go. My GF's gotten them in the past, and this is what she's done...
Good luck!

Try to eat some food, then take an anti-inflametry. (IB prophen). Stay hidrated, and get some rest.
Try to avoid any pressure on the ear.
Also try to aviod any liquids going into the ear.
Stay away from loud noises, and just relax.

Take anti-inflammatories such as Advil or Aleve. If there is any obvious skin swelling, there may be a soft tissue skin infection and you should see your doctor as soon as possible.
