My husband has recently been diagnosed as Diabetic, so he is on a low carb diet. He has always had a healthy appetite so the small amounts of food are leaving him hungry. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what he can eat in between meals as a "snack" that is low in carbs and sugar??? Thanks a bunch - any information would be appreciated!!

I took my son because his eye was red. Thought he had pink eye.

1. Nurse leads us to room. Puts bp cuff on arm. Puts pulse checker on finger. Presses start button. Machine automatically takes bp and pulse. She writes something down.

2. Doctor comes in. Asks whats wrong. I say eye is red since Monday. Doctor walks over and glances at eye. I tell him no dishcharge, only watery. Doctor says it is a virus and there is nothing he can do. Tells me to put warm compresses on it.

3. Doctor leaves

Time in: 1:00pm exactly
Time out: 1:06 pm exactly.

He didn't even have to put gloves on.

I call later, ask the charge. It 75 bucks.

Why is this???? Is this insanity?????????
Doctors get $75 an hour not per 5 minutes!! Am I wrong?

My father was diagnosed with hardening of the arteries in 2000. He had brain surgery in 1996 and his pituitary gland was completely killed off by the radiation. No one ever checked that until he had crazy symptoms...including high cholesterol that would not go down with meds. Needless to say, he now takes coumadin and levoxyl (as well as numerous other meds). He is 61. He was told that he has hardening of the arteries due to the 4 years of high cholesterol, on top of a lifetime of smoking and bad eating habits. Now, every time he has an ache or pain, he thinks he is dying because he thinks the hardening is a death sentence. I don't know enough about it but am going to begin going to his doc appts b/c he does not give you the whole story. Back in 2000, he had lost control over one side of his body due to this, but then they diagnosed it and gave him the meds and it never happened again. I do know this is irreversible but would like to know what questions to ask tomorrow. Thanks

I was told that not all std's show up in the blood and that's why my gyno also does a pap and physical exam on me to fully check for all std's. I was also told that the only way a test for herpes will come out positive is if the person is having an outbreak at that time! My boyfriend told me that he went to his family Dr. and had a blood test to check for std's. I geuss that means he didn't get checked for everything. If a woman goes to a gynocologist then what is the doctor called that specializes in male reproductive health? What do men have to get done to get tested for EVERYTHING???

At the gym before workout I found my blood pressure to be 160/87. I had it checked at my employment and it was about the same. The next 2 times I was at the gym I took my BP before exercising and it was high and afterwards it lower (but still not normal) to about 143/80.

I am planning on going to the eye doctor but wanted to know what this could be. . . sometimes, especially when it's especially bright or dim in a room, my eyesight will "flicker"--go dim for a moment, or alternate between dim and normal for a few moments, as if someone is turning a light on and off. Any ideas on what this can be? I can't seem to find anything on the Web about it. Thanks.

I work at a plastic recycling company as a receptionest. They clean grind, and do what ever else they do to get plastic scrap ready for sale. They burn it to see what type it is.
I had a Betta on my desk that suddenly died.

Ok now the question.
As soon as get to work I immidiatey start sneeizing n sometimes coughing and also get a little nausea. My nose is runny all day. One day I had a nose bleed and I have never had a nose bleed unless I got hit in it. I think its allergies. But would allergies make me feel like I have to vomit and make my nose bleed. I think something comes through the vents. I told my boss but she just blows it off.
Do you think the fish dying is related.
