My 16 yrs old daughter is suffering from hyperthyroidism and became jaundice aside from usual symptoms of hyperthyroid. First shot of Radio Active Iodine did not stops over release of thyroid hormone and she became more jaundice a monthh after that she was treated a higher dose of Radio Active Iodine and still under observation till this time. Whats unusual is her being jaundice even she is negative for hepa A and B, and other liver laboratory exams. Doctors claimed that it could be a side effect of Hyperthyroidism...."could be" is hard for us parents of a 16 yrs old girl who should be enjoying her youth but now just stayed at home because whenever shes out, people staring and staying away from her thinking she have a communicable disease or hepatitis. Experts or anyone who had the same case please help me or explain to me her case for our peace of mind....My greatest fear is that my mother died of liver cancer!......

My 68 year old mother has aortic stenosis with her heart. I am worried about her. She was diagnosed about eight years ago. She had an eckocardiogram done the other day and they saw a decrease however small.

She's a diabetic and she is the only living person in her family. She has a doctor but I want the best for her.

I was wondering if it is from the mold, he sure thinks so. But that is probably because the mold is returning. He fears that it is growing in his lungs or something. He cleaned it with Comet and bleach if that might have anything to do with it. Help is appreciated.

Ok, well ... a little new to insurance and dermatology.
(Please don't flame me for any naive questions or thinking).

Just have a mole (bigger than normal), a little self-conscious about it, and I want to get rid of it.

My insurance is from Kaiser, so would that mean that I can't go to any dermatology office to have this thing removed? I can only go to a Kaiser hospital?

I believe this procedure is cosmetics and the insurance will probably not cover it (correct me if I'm wrong), but I spoke to a dermatologists (friend of mine), and he said ... well ... um ... he could get this procedure classified as another procedure so that the insurance will cover.

Thoughts please ...

(geez, I feel like to only guy here - no offense)

A mother was given spinal anesthesia (Marcarine heavy 0.5 (Bupivacaine)) + fentanyl 25 mcg on a cesarean delivery and the babies were premature (less than 36 weeks). They were born on 15-FEB-2007 & today (15-April-2007) there age is 60 days. Can we give them Nalaxone (Narcan) to reduce the effect of opioids if we doubt that this has made them the respiratory depression. The babies (twins-non identical-female&Male) are facing a respiratory depression & they are on intubation. Will the Nalaxone help in removing the effect of the anesthesia overdoe ?

We have a case where 2 children twins (one female & one male) whom are non-identical and born to a rare case of respiratory depression. Most probably the cause if sedative (over does of anesthesia (opioids). The doctors are going now to consider genetic diseases. Can they have the same disease together? Is that possible in genetics? What is the possibility?
