Absolutely- sorry, I know that's not the answer you wanted to hear but you need to call animal control in your area and they will try to find the cat- I believe you have a 48 hr grace before you need to get the rabies shot if they can't find the cat---it may be longer- so call animal control.....ASAP..........

Hope they find the cat and it tests negative........good luck

FYI this is serious- you can die from rabies so do not let it slide........

A kitten would be dead in three days if it was rabies. If the kittens are healthy, moving around and have no trouble eating, there's not rabies. Rabies freezes the throat muscles in an animal. Just watch the wound, if you didn't get all the bacteria out you may need antibiotics, but it's not going to be rabies, I'm sure. Cats aren't the major carriers of it and like I said, a ktten dies quickly from the virus. A full adult cat would be dead in 10 days.

You should definitely seek medical attention immediately....especially if the bite broke through the skin...although the likelihood of being infected with rabies by a cat is relatively small, there's still a possibility AND if left untreated, rabies is almost always fatal.....check this site for more details

I think you should go to the emergency room for a tetnus shot first and get the bite looked at, I do not think you were exposed to rabies, but you really should get that bite looked at.

Go to your doctor. If the cat lives outside, it could be exposed to all kinds of crap.
