i accidently swallowed some mouth wash and realized swallowing is the only way for the mouth wash, or anything similar, to get to the back of my throat which is where the bad breath comes from.

Ok, I think I have a tooth abscess or an allergic reaction. My symptoms are swelling to the right side of my top lip, my right cheek and my right eye underneath. Please help! Its either a tooth abscess or allergic reaction!

the teeth in question belong to my son. he had them extracted to make room for braces. they are perfect. he cannot do anything with them and was told he could sell them to a lab or something of this manner.

***PLEASE READ THE WHOLE ENTIRE THING***
First off, I do not have perfect teeth. They narrow in a bit and are not alligned with my jaw nor are they straight & perfect. Im getting braces/invislign retainer[s] next month. The thing is, when I smile my nose gets super wide. I sort of this it has something to do with the alignment of my teeth. Because my nose is narror when I am not smiling. I have put paper in my mouth to see what Ill look like with straight WHITE perfect teeth before, weird-I know, but when I smiled my nose didnt get wide or anything. Anyone have any experience with this? I know its probably out of the norm. but if its EVER happened before Id love to know...

I finally mad my decision and I would like to be a General and Cosmetic Dentist, and I would like to work with people teeth become it is an asset of smiling and kissing, and would help someone majorly, now I have the final question ???

my sister's teeth are green and black and rotten and look disgusting.could she be doing drugs?her teeth became like that over a short period of time.she says she didnt get enough calcium when she was pregnant.could that be true she didn't get enough calcium or could she be doing drugs or could it be something else.she brushes regularly but i dont see a point in brushing her teeth are almost rotted to the gum.at the top of her all her teeth are green and the bottom part are black.there is no hope for them but i just wanted to know what could cause this

how long does it usually take with the tightening of braces to close the gaps between teeth if you have teeth pulled out?

i want to know because i will have teeth pulled out before i put on braces.

Im going to the ortho on Tuesday... and he normaly really hurts me... i asked him last time to be gentle.. and it didnt hurt that much.

But i think i mayb be getting my braces tightened this time... as ive had them on for about 7 months now and havent had them tightened.

People say this hurts the first time you get them tightened and he hurts at the best of times!!

Any advice on how i could stop it hurting? Ive got some gel to ease pain, But what about tablets? Will they help ? And how long before i go should i take them?

Seeking advice regarding jaw surgery for open bite on 17 year old. Has had many years of ortho starting at age 9. Open bite keeps returning. Has had expander, tongue crib, 3 sets of braces, speech therapy. Anyone had this done? What were results, problems etc. All advice appreciated. Getting so frustrated and exhausted.

About 10 months or so ago I got a wisdom tooth on the bottom right side of my mouth removed and it healed up nicely but my only concern is that there seems to be a piece of bone or something resting in there, just under the healed gums. It doesn't hurt but it feels really weird if I open mouth a little too wide or move my jaw sideways. It hasn't popped through yet and it can't be good for bone to just hang around in my gums. Does anyone know what the heck is going on? Is this normal, especially after 10 months?

I have a friend who is an orthodontist who told me that a slightly gummy smile is considered more youthful and attractive compared to someone who doesn't show any signs of gums. However, I think we all can agree that an extremely gummy smile may distract from other attractive features on the face. What are some of your opinions?

I quite literally just lost my last baby tooth at the age of 15.9 yrs. I read that the average age for losing the last baby tooth is 11.5 yrs. I asked my mom, and she says the tooth looks sort of crooked. I went to see my Orthodontist a few years back, and I wore a retainer for a different problem. Will I need to go see her again due to this [very] late loss of tooth?

I've been thinking about whitening my teeth, but I heard that whitening strips or any form of whitening your teeth that uses hydrogen peroxide can destroy your teeth in the long-run. This is what my friend's dentist had told her. She said that it thins out your enamel, thus making your teeth weaker and more transparent. Is this true?
