It costs thousands of dollars to straighten your teeth. Since this is a cosmetic service, most insurances wouldn't pay for it even you had dental insurance. Can you get a part-time job and save up? Or take out a loan? This is not an inexpensive process.

Not in L.A. but I'm sure it is about the same but it depends on whatever else your dentist will need to do to get your mouth ready to wear the braces - move teeth around etc. Around here it cost anywhere from $2,000 to $4,000. I have 3 children who will have braces soon. I've warn them myself too. Good luck!

By the way our insurance doesn't cover for braces and to my knowledge most dental insurances don't unless someone has some special premium type package that I've never heard of! I used to bill insurance and braces are considered cosmetic and are not covered anyhow!

In the midwest my daughters braces, both top and bottom together, were 3,000 dollars, but in california, maybe 4 or 5 thousand ??
