I'm not asking how to brush your teeth, but the terms dentists use in regards to the different methods used in the brushing of teeth. If a website could be provided that would be great, I wasn't able to really find anything.

I was sore the 1st day, the 2nd day I felt pretty good, just very swollen. Today I woke up still swollen, feeling rather weak and nauseous, and my jaw is just throbbing (I had the top two taken out). I've been very careful with not spitting, no straws, I don't smoke, etc.. but why is the pain worse than yesterday? Is this normal? I'm also only swollen on one side of my face. Any thoughts?

I am curious as to how they turn a bite imprint into a little plastic mold for your teeth-like for bleaching or for invisalign. What kind of certification is required? Is this done by a dental lab tech, dentist , or what?

I have 2 questions from a dentist
1. My teeth are in agood condition...do i need scaling...i had it 5 years back.So i just have a feeling that it's not good to have it done without any reason.

2. My wisdom tooth is growing sideways. It's not painful but my dentist says it should be exracted because it can disfigure my teeth. So how much pain should i expect in the procedure and afterwards.
Thanks

Recently my jaw started clicking but now when i went to the orthodontist to get my brace fitted he kept my mouth open for aprox 30 mins. As he was doing this my jaw got stiffer and stiffer i thought this was just the brace. I am now on my second day of the jaw problem . I cannot open my jaw wider than about a cm. But last night i went to sleep and it was ok for about 10 minutes and after the 10 minutes it went stiff again. Does anyone know what this is ?

I have been seeing a dentist in for 5 years and over this time she has undertaken a significant amount of orthodontic work including the widening of my upper and lower palletes. I have recently moved to another country temporarily and a specialist orthodontist here has informed me that the work the Dentist has undertaken was useless (and actually detrimental to my bite) and that I need to actually try to get my teeth back to the way they were 14 months ago before she started. I wonder if I can file a malpractice suit against this dentist for both the costs incurred but more so the pain and emotional problems that this expansion plate has caused me for what appears to be no good reason. EG I couldn't talk properly for about a month when I first wore it! this now seems to have been completely unecessary. Also the plate cause big unsightly gaps in my teeth which made me depressed, self conscious and even stopped me going out with friends (I know this sounds stupid but it's true) Advice?

okay on tuesday i am skipping school to go get a surgery on my two i-teeth. my baby teeth are still in there, one is loose a little, but what they have to do is this: first they have to give me anestetics. then, when im out, they have to pull out my baby teeth out, cut off some of my gums to expose the adult teeth, then they have to pull the teeth down. i have never had to do something like this, and i know it may sound really stupid but i am scared and if anybody has had to do this, tell me what it is like and how long will it hurt and when will the anestetics wear off (i dont really know if it makes a difference but the anestetics are what the doctor called "twilight anestetics") also, i have braces on and if you know how long it will be until they attach the brackets on my adult teeth, please tell me. if you know anything about anything i have just mentioned please post your answer (please, nothing rude, only serious answers) and thanks in advance!!! :)

maxillofacial surgery corrects all differant facial deformities and fractures of the facial structures upper and lower jaws too.because if the injury is severe the surgery corrects it by the use of bone destractors to lenghting the bones if a deformitie the surgery will correct it to give a normal apperance
