several days ago i had a tooth pulled. stitches were put in and the dentist gave me penicillin to take for 5 days. the information sheet on post operative care i was given was not very explicit. it said not to rinse with salt water until after 8 hours, but it didn't say how often per day or for how many days. the dental assistant just said to do it very gently. the sheet also said not to lay horizontal when going to bed, make sure your head is sufficiently elevated. my questions are how many nights do i have to sleep with my head elevated, and how long and how many times per day do i rinse with salt water and will this effect my stitches that are to dissolve over time in any way.

Can I now use 'super glue' on the crack so that the whole thing would not break in two? Is it safe to use in the mouth? It would take a few days to get my new dentures so in the meantime I have to use the crackedone and hope it does not break in two. What other options do I have? Help! Cannot function without them!

there's 2 types of places we can go to; private or government.
for private, it's fast to get one but costly. for government, we have to wait for at least 2 years to get it, but it's cheap. am i right so far?and also, how much would each of them cost about?
thanks.

The tooth has a large filling, and after two months it started being sensitive to cold and aching when pressure was applied to it. My dentist recommended a crown. This was done last week, and now the pain is constant. Will this get better when they mount the permanent crown, and what are my chances of needing a root canal?

I brush, floss, and use a floride rince every day. I dont eat sweets (can't anyway because they make my teeth hurt). I dont drink a lot of pop. But yet I still get cavities. Also, drinking cold stuff hurts my teeth. I went to the dentist and have 8 cavities! But I work really hard on my teeth! I do everything I should. Do some people just get cavities because their teeth arent as strong as they should be? What should I do? I also use sensodyne toothpaste too but my teeth are really sensitive. I cannot eat candy cuz it hurts! The dentist said I do have really healthy gums so at least that is a plus. And I don't have insurance so this is going to be expensive. But the dentist said we can take care of one at a time since I definitely cannot afford to take care of everything at once. Any suggestions? I am already doing everything I was told to do but I still get cavities. Plus my wisdom teeth are coming in and there is no room for them so they will have to be pulled. I have no luck!! :-(

I went to the dentist awhile back and he said my wisdom teeth are going to come in soon and there will be no room for them so they will need to be pulled. So what would happen if I didn't get them pulled? I am going to of course but I am just curious about what would happen if I didn't.

:I'm in Minneapolis.I have dire need for help & don't know where to turn. I live on disability for my back & medicaid doesn't cover dental.A "free" program I found started the work last year & removed almost all my teeth for dentures. The program's now shut down, the dentures don't fit;I can't keep them in & they hurt so bad I've lost 20 lbs. because it's just not worth it to eat.The teeth they left in have big cavities that need fixing, & now besides all the sore spots from the dentures I can feel either bone or tooth that got left behind starting to poke thru a part of my gums. The last dentist I saw said my only hope may be implants. We know how expensive THOSE are. I'm horribly depressed & feel almost like life is over. I just want the pain gone & to be able to eat again.I've checked into all the "programs' here & can't find anything.Do all dentists do dentures & why don't they advertise so?Where can I go what can I do?It's consuming my life because I feel helpless & hopeless!Anyone?
