I went to the dentist awhile back and he said my wisdom teeth are going to come in soon and there will be no room for them so they will need to be pulled. So what would happen if I didn't get them pulled? I am going to of course but I am just curious about what would happen if I didn't.

They will push your other teeth forward starting with the molars in the rear. This will lead to a domino effect which will eventually reach your front teeth and resulting in their misalignment and be crooked.

Getting wisdom teeth pulled is practically a scam.

Here's the thing. Yes, it is true that some people need to have their wisdom teeth pulled because they are damaging their other teeth or they are causing pain.

However, there are a lot of people whose wisdom teeth LOOK like they will be a problem and then, for whatever reason, just stop being potential problems. My wisdom teeth are impacted. That is, they are parallel to my gum line. So they wont move up like they are supposed to. The danger is that they will move sideways and start to damage my other teeth. For the last 15 years I have been told that my wisdom teeth "need to come out right away". Yet they are still there and not causing any problems. Will they need to come out one day? Maybe. I dont know. But I'm not a person interested in unnecessary surgery. I put the question straight to my dentist and his attitude now is, "Well if they start to hurt, then we will take them out."

If you want to get them taken out, then do it. My point is that oral surgeons will always say to get them removed. It's how they make most of their money.

I had that problem as a kid, and my 11 year old daughter is starting to notice the same thing. What happened to me was the wisdon teeth became impacted and turned sideways in my gum. It ultimately caused my bottom teeth to become somewhat crooked. I had all four wisdom tetth removed a few years ago (in my late 30s). The biggest problem I experienced apart from some crooked teeth(my wife thinks they are sexy lol) was that my teeth are very close together, thus creating a tough environment to clean and floss. I really need to floss well to prevent cavities, etc. I'm going to see if the Dentist recommends removing my daughter's at an earlier age.

If you don't have your wisdom teeth pulled when you have no room for them they will become impacted, infected and inflamed causing severe infection which will ultimately lead to infection of not only the tooth and jaw area but possibly the sinus cavity as well which can ultimately lead to a persons death. The sinus cavities lead directly to the brain and very serious consequences. So get those teeth pulled and be "wise" not stupid.

They would come in and it would be exrtremely painful first off, then over time as they came in, your existing teeth would be pushed around to make room for them. This will lead to severly crooked and gapped teeth.

Nasty, huh?

I waited as long as I could to have mine out but then they grew in and started crowding my other teeth and got infected-just take 'em out before you get to that point!

They would try, unsuccesfully, to come up where you already have teeth and you would suffer a lot of dental pain

This is an easy one. You have to have them extracted if they try to come in. The pain is awful if you don't.
