I've had braces for almost 2 years now, and a while ago my gums got puffy, I floss, I brush, I do everything to help the puffiness go down, but nothing seems to work. When I went for a cleaning she said the puffiness should go down once I get my braces off.

Has this happened to anyone else? And if so, did the puffiness go down after you got your braces off?

Thanks in advance!!! =D

Also, it's just on the top where my gums are the most puffy, the bottom are pretty good, just a bit puffy.

a few years ago i had a root canal. i should say a partial root canal because the pain was gone but the dentist said i had to go back to for him to finish it. well, i never went back and about 2 years ago the tooth just fell out. now, my gum is swollen, my face is swollen, and my cheek hurts. i know it's from this broken off back tooth. i can't go to the dentist to have it fixed because i don't have insurance and i'm struggling financially right now. what will happen if i let this problem go on?

My teeth crumble and fall out! Does anyone know what this means? I know it's nothing to do with going to the dentist, (I've recently been and everything is healthy). It's like when I'm talking there's teeth coming out my mouth! It's driving me crazy!
What does it mean?

In the end of November of 2006. I found out that my son had 2 cavities. One needed to fixed right away and the other one still could wait. It's now January 2007 and I totally forgot about his cavities. He has an appt. next week coming up. I'm concern if the cavity has grown more to his root. He's 8 yrs old. Does anyone know the maxium amount of time that it takes for a cavity to reach the root? Thanks.

Hello. If you read back you'll see that i've had some fun dental adventures in the past Three or Four months. I've had Oral surgery to get four molars removed, three fillings and now i have braces.

I've been having some personal stress problems (those boyfriends i tell ya) and minor work related stress, and i'm not entirely sure thats the cause, but i've been clenching down on my teeth so hard that it wakes me up. Since my teeth already hurt from braces moving my teeth around, it just makes it that much worse. Recently i snapped a brace off from my teeth clenching, and now i have wire poking my cheek.

Please don't tell me to talk to my orthodontist, because i plan on it, (i'm set up in a situation where the Dr. only comes to the dentist office every other thursday otherwise i would have gone to see him sooner) but i'm wondering if there are any options right now? i see my Dr. next thrusday. And i've now acquired some built up anxiety about sleeping ... HELP Please!?

About two months ago I got hit with a chair in the face. I landed in the emergency room. My face has been healing though there is one concern that I have.

Ever since I got hit one of my two upper front teeth is numb. The tooth is not discoloring or wobbling. It looks just fine but it is still numb. Will I be losing this tooth (that would suck.) Does the numbness just show nerve damage though the blood supply to the tooth is keeping it alive? Will it regain feeling?

I have never really flossed and the dentist told me I needed to start. I agree and want to start but every time I have, I've slacked and quit flossing. I am commited to flossing this time so what steps can I do to make sure that I follow through?

Probably a silly question, but it occurred to me to ask it anyway. If I brush, floss, and mouthwash my teeth at night right before bed and don't eat or drink anything else before sleeping, what is the logic behind flossing again in the morning? Surely the morning brushing and mouthwashing would take care of any bacteria that set up shop overnight.

Just wondering.

I just got a dental cleaning done yesterday. My dental Hygienist said that I have couple of 'pockets' about 5mm deep and that I require intensive antibiotic placements.
How important is this procedure and is there some way of avoiding doing this for now as my insurance does not cover most of this procedure.
Any dentist out there that can provide me with some info?
