ok well i just got them about 2weeks ago.now i got braces.but the worst part is n fact the spacers.but hey it mite nt hurt 2bad.but they dnt feel good i kn tell u tht.but aftr about a few hours they dnt really hurt. They actually really dnt hurt too bad.it depends on your teeth mainly though.if u hav real compressed teeth then it may hurt bad but if your teeth are spacy then not really.dnt worry you'll be fine really.good luck best of wishes to you.and remember the braces give u an even prettier smile :)

Ugh I'm so glad all that is over... It's not pain so much as constant discomfort, but after a couple days you adjust. Be careful what you eat, you don't want them to come out and then you have to get them put in again. The whole braces process is very expensive! Eat soft things, like scrambled eggs, yogurt, milk shakes, protein shakes, etc.

omg i just got spacers on MONDAY!!! so im sure i can help. spacers are very tiny rubber bands thinner than a centimeter. they take a tool that looks kind of like a pliers and they grasp one of the rubber bands and push it between your teeth. it doesnt hurt for the most part but it hurt when they were putting one of mine in. none of my 6 friends with braces teeth hurt after they got their spacers in but mine hurt enough that it bugs me. it kind of depends on how spacey your teeth already are. you can eat the same stuff you usually do after you get them, but you might want to eat softer stuff depending on the discomfort. you just brush your teeth like you usually do (right over the spacers; they dont stick up over the top of your teeth) but they will tell you not to floss in those spaces. and make sure to call your ortho office if one comes out so they can put it back in. good luck!

It doesn't hurt to have them put in but your teeth may be a little sore for a few days. Don't eat anything hard or sticky.
